One of the first cases of illegal charged with failure to register

Source isn’t attainable
Well, I don't want to reprint the whole article here either. Essentially the US attorney's office is filing a misdemeanor charge against an illegal immigrant for failing to register per the Trump order. The judge in the case was surprised by the filing saying she has never seen a case of this sort before.

I suspect this is one of a number of test cases being or about to be brought by the DOJ to establish the legality of that order. It will do several things as it moves forward. It will test the legality of the order and set its legal boundaries. If successful, it could be used as evidence for deportation as an additional factor. At the same time, if it is successful, it will establish a public notice that failure to register will have consequences and likely drive more persons here illegally to self-deport.

More importantly, it will establish a new paradigm on the illegal immigration front. It will make those here illegally known to government. That means a more accurate count of how many illegals are really in the US and where they are. I think those numbers won't sit well with the public-at-large.
