:laugh: They identified it by studying the Bible and comparing the Catholic Church to the symbolism in prophecy. Also you can compare the prophecy in Daniel seven to Revelation 13 and 17 it is basically a repeat of the same things. There are LOTS of identifying features and they all match up.
