my great grandparents emigrated from europe.. they came here, worked hard, studied english at night school and made something for themselves.. nobody gave them (or anybody else from that generation) anything for free.
now we have govt handing out all sorts of goodies to everybody.. thats the problem..

Theres nothing wrong with checking ID at the border.. But we've got govt with inland immigration checkpoints that are up to 100 miles away from the border..

I disagree..To me It is acceptance of these measures where some bleeding heart will convince congress that we all HAVE to get chipped so as to not be racists. Then a national ID will be the 'only fair' thing to do.

I have no problem with immigrants who come here who want to work hard and make a life for themselves..
I do have a problem with Mexicans who once a month go North of the border, cash a welfare check that they get delivered to a PO box, and then go home and spend their money.

Top is right. I see no reason to believe that the welfare seekers are a legitimate problem. They go through deserts, risk injury from government agents and coyotes to get here. And they keep coming. Denying them government services won't stop them and there is no reason to believe that is why they come.
I have no problem cutting welfare for them or citizens. But it is a different issue and a red herring.
