Willing to do ANYTHING to stop the next terrorist attack?

and I don't think you need to give up that much freedom in order to increase the chances of catching terrorists considerably.....look at how much fuss liberals raised just because the government wanted to be able to check who a suspected terrorist emailed from a free library computer...."omigorsh!...somebody might check to see if I've been reading Catcher in the Rye!"........
It's a pretty important principle that we have a government that must demonstrate pretty significant need to find out any information whatsoever about us as citizens.

but I really really really need to know if you read Catcher in the Rye.....and what email address Hassan sent a message to saying "it's going down Thursday!"........

I like how comfortable you are in surrendering my freedom in order for you to 'feel' safer.

Then you can take that to a judge and get a warrant.

or you could go into the library and prove you are with Homeland Security, tell the librarian you have been following Hassan and would like to know if he used the publicly provided computer and who he emailed......and the world as we know it would not cease to exist......

give me an honest answer....did you REALLY think the government was going to look to see what you had been reading?.....

irrelevant. even the ability to investigate what i read, write, research is enough. especially if i'm reading things like 'unintended consequences' or some other material that the government considers subversive.

That's irrelevant. If they have enough evidence to suspect someone of terrorism, it shouldn't be that hard to get a warrant to search that persons personal records. But when you eliminate that process, who's to say what the investigating agents will do? They have no warrant and there is no legal recourse against them now.

OR you could use my suggestion. Because that's the procedure we have set up. Called the 4th Amendment. Pretty important one too.
