MAGA senator Ted Cruz calls Trump's jumbo jet foreign gift an espionage risk

No, which is why American taxpayers will end up paying to have the plane examined with a fine-toothed comb to ensure it's free of such equipment.

What may be harder to detect is a bomb. Surveillance equipment requires transmitters or some means to retrieve data. This leaves an electronic signature. A bomb only needs a receiver to be detonated remotely. Receivers are much less likely to be detected since they do not broadcast a signal.
It's remarkable that MAGA morons only two days ago were mocking and LOL'ing my questions about Trump's jumbo jet gift being a possible national security concern.

Trump’s gifted Qatari 747 would be a security problem, officials say

President Donald Trump on Monday praised Qatar for offering his administration a free luxury jet, but current and former U.S. military, defense and Secret Service officials said he will likely have to waive existing security specifications to be able to use the plane.

Trump loooooves to sign EOs! Let him sign one that lets him use the plane right away. No need for all those security regulations. Besides, if our enemies need to learn US secrets, all they need to do is sign up for Signal Chat.

MAGAts aren't very bright plus they will always come to the defense of their Orange Messiah.

Even some of the most ardent Clinton defenders will fess up to some of the mistakes both Bill and Hillary made. MAGA moron? Never.

Even righting jackass Senator Ted Cruz agrees with me that the president using a jet that has been outside the chain-of-custody of the US government is an espionage risk:
It isn't.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) is warning that Qatar’s gift of a luxury Boeing 747-8 to the Trump administration to serve as the new Air Force One poses “significant espionage and surveillance problems,” a concern voiced by other lawmakers.

“I’m not a fan of Qatar. I think they have a really disturbing pattern of funding theocratic lunatics who want to murder us, funding Hamas and Hezbollah. And that’s a real problem,” Cruz said

Stop quoting made up shit, Sybil.

MAGA morons
MAGA isn't a person, Sybil.
were laughing at me last weekend and said I was an idiot for stating this foreign gift could be a national security risk,
I still laugh at you for this! :rofl2:
but yesterday MAGA Ted Cruz and other lawmakers expressed the exact same concerns I had.
Stop making shit up, Sybil. I don't give a damn what Democrats try to lie about.

You obviously have no idea about aircraft, or what the military does to convert one into Air Force One.

concern is fine

but it will still save money running this through an inspection vs buying a new plane and running that through inspection
Quite right. ANY annual inspection is thorough. The entire interior is removed. For something like Air Force One, that removal and inspection is carried out by the military under secure conditions. This happens EVERY YEAR on EVERY 747 that is in service.
this is a net benefit to US taxpapers - and since we are assholes that export depreciating dollars, it is a net benefit to everyone around the world by stopping some of our excess spending
Again, quite right. A gifted aircraft means the U.S. doesn't have to buy one. The military still has to do the conversion for either case.

The US government contracts with American manufacturers for the construction of Air Force 1 and Air Force 2, and the government is undoubtedly carefully invested in the oversight of the building of these aircraft.
Just the FAA. These are delivered as standard aircraft without interiors. After flight testing, the aircraft is delivered to a military base where the conversion of the interior is done.
You want our presidents to fly around in a jumbo jet that was in the possession of a Muslim nation which is known to harbor sympathisers with radical Islamists and other enemies of the United States.
Irrelevant. One 747 is basically like any other. The only difference is the interiors and some of the avionics. The 747 air freighter and the AWACS aircraft are the only significant structural changes these days. The Shuttle carriers are no longer produced, since the Shuttle program is shut down.

Boeing does not install the interiors for Air Force One or Air Force Two. Those are built and installed by the military.

The entire interior is removed during each annual inspection.

Turning Qatari 747 into Air Force One could cost $1 billion and take years, experts say

Taxpayers would likely foot the bill to retrofit President Trump's new jet, which could be more than twice the plane's $400 million value.

Quoting more made up shit.

There is nothing to 'retrofit'. The military already has interior components that fit a 747 assigned to be Air Force One or Air Force Two.
The 'flying palace' interior will be removed. That takes a few weeks at most. It will take longer to store it and return it to Saudi Arabia, if they still want it (they probably don't care...but maybe a museum will buy it).

You really do know absolutely about how these aircraft are put together, do you?

Do we have an ironclad 100 percent guarantee that Russia, China, North Korea haven't invented eavesdropping technology that is exceptionally difficult to detect, and which could have found it's way into the hands of Qataris and other foreign Muslims who had access to this plane?
...or Boeing?

Who cares? The entire fitting out of Air Force One is done by the military.

and that's fine for plastic bullshit.

all meaningful product should be made in America.
Plastic is a meaningful product, NoName. Just look at how many things can only be made because of plastics!

To wit:
* Your flatscreen monitor uses plastics for the pixels, the wiring, and the backlight tubes (LEDS), and the circuit boards.
* Your computer uses plastics for the drive media, the wiring, the processor and other chip cases, the motherboard and any daughter cards you have plugged into it,
* You have plastic clothing. You have plastic interiors for your house. The paint you paint it with is plastic.
* The car you drive has plastic parts for the interior, electronics, HVAC, and engine components, including all the circuit boards and components mounted on them.
* Plastics are light and durable, making them ideal for interiors on aircraft, from Cessna 150's to Boeing 747's.
* Plastics are part of every pane of safety glass, used in cars, homes, etc; and they've saved a lot of lives.
* Plastics are ideal for use in the body, such as pacemakers, ear implants and aids, etc.; since the body does not know how to consume certain types of plastics.
* Plastic safety glasses protect your eyes from some pretty severe hazards.
* Plastic hardhats are very effective protection from smaller falling objects, such as are common around work zones.

Plastic IS made in America, and even mostly in the United States. The United States leads the world in production of plastics. Many plastics were INVENTED in the United States.

im talking about the plastic bullshit, as i initially said.

Removing an interior takes at most about a week or two, Sybil.
Often it takes no more than a day or two.
I know some shops that can complete this job in a single day.

Installing it is just the same as removing it for time required.

It doesn't cost a billion dollars. This is done every year for every aircraft in service...even my little Cessna (it takes me a couple of hours to remove that interior).
