I see a tax protester as the equivelent of a person who refuses to serve his country when called in a time of war....

Now I might respect a tax protester who was protesting because he felt the tax was bad for the nation, but I belive most protest because they dont want to pay. Just like most draft protesters protest because they wont want to serve.

What an idiot.

an accurate analogy would be a soldier who is asked to stay at war for longer and longer

A soldier serves for the duration of the war. When we are at war the date for the enlistment to be over is worthless.

me too southern man who is an admitted tax cheat is not patriotic at all. He's stealing from the troops.

he admitted to taking cash for jobs and not reporting the income. ie admitted tax thief.

Soldiers get funding from general fund, therefore he's stealing from the troops.

you do realize that none of the income tax money collected goes to pay for the troops though right?

Until a court says different paying taxes is the law of the land just as presenting yourself to the draft board was the law of the land. Just because you don't like the law doesn't mean you can ignore it. Both the draft dodger and the tax protester don't like the law that they are ignoring and by ignoring it they both violate the law.

And slaves protest (well, if they are not routinely killed for it) because they don't want to be slaves. Selfish bastards! Too bad we can't kill the tax/draft protesters, right Jarod?

This is an ad hom. You are attempting to discredit the argument based on an attack of the person making the argument.

Also, protesting high taxes != tax evasion/avoidance and protesting a draft != draft dodger.
