“House GOP grinding ahead with Trump’s big tax cuts bill, but new report says it will add to deficit”

“WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans are pushing to vote on their multi-trillion-dollar tax breaks package. Skeptical Republicans who have problems on several fronts, including worries that it will pile onto the nation’s $36 trillion debt.”

“A fresh analysis from the Congressional Budget Office said the tax provisions would increase the federal deficit by $3.8. The lowest-income households in the U.S. would see their resources drop, while the highest ones would see a boost, the CBO said.”

“The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan fiscal watchdog group, estimates that the House bill is shaping up to add roughly $3.3 trillion to the debt”

Any doubt Trump/Johnson are fighting to get this out before the consequences of Trump’s tariff idiocy hit home

Remember when debt and deficits were the big thing with Republicans? Just further proof there no longer is a Republican Party, rather Trump’s Party, call the Trumpkin Party, Trumpicans. And to think, Trump promised in 2016 that he’d eliminate the National Debt

Trump might actually top the record setting numbers he accomplished in his first term, and just think of what he can pocket now by raising the membership fees for Maralago for all his tax beneficiaries. But he did promise he was going to make Americans richer, he just didn’t specify which Americans

The debt was never a problem to Republicans. They talked about it and used it in campaigns, but it was not honest. The Repubs cut taxes on corporations and the wealthy while spending like crazy. The math is simple. Reagan, Bush. Trump all cranked up the debt. The Dems fixed their economic messes.

But this time it is so transparent, tough to hide behind the rhetoric and doublethink especially if the predicted consequences of the tariffs become a reality

MAGA morons are too chickenshit to pass major cuts to Medicare, disability, and Medicaid

They use the debt when they need to scare people, no interest in doing anything about it.

They are more afraid of Trump than the voters.
I think even if Trump was not around, they would be too chickenshit to pass major cuts to Medicare and Medicaid on their own.

Their strategy has always been to pass tax cuts for the rich, run up the debt, and then feign surprise that there isn't enough money to fund government commitments, and demand Democrat's join them in making bipartisan cuts to SS and Medicare.

And the CBO is the only one citing a warning:
  • The Joint Committee on Taxation projects the House reconciliation bill would increase deficits by $3.8 trillion through 2034.
  • The Penn Wharton Budget Model projects deficits of almost $3.3 trillion, even when accounting for "positive economic dynamics."
  • Moody's, which downgraded the U.S. credit rating on Friday, estimates that extending Trump's 2017 tax cuts alone — a central component of the bill — would add $4 trillion to the deficit over the next decade.

And the House bends the knee:

“House passes Trump's deficit-swelling tax bill”

And consequently, the Market falls 800 yesterday, and more significantly, the bond market drops dramatically, some yields lowest in decades

Just making America greater by the day
