Try as you might, you cannot prove your assertion based on the clear definitions of ALL the terms used.

Well, you have to explain the "educational experience" that was denied the "white" children....to do this you have to remember what EXACTLY was the field trip about.

FYI....."classic" racism in educaton was a denial of education beyond a certain level (high school, college), in some cases limited access to proper educational tools and resources under the guise of "seperate but equal". Black kids being shown a black professor giving them an address on the trials and tribulations and successes of that can be done by black folk is not perpetuating "racism" against the white students, as they do NOT have to worry about overt or covert bigoted obstacles in their job futures on the whole....BUT...it was insensitive NOT to have the prof come to the school and make his address an "open" forum with optional attendance.

Judging by the headline, Ann Arbor's response is a-typical of most small level educational bureaucracy - controversy results in removal of the point of controversy regardless who was right or wrong.

I know what you would ranting about if this was a "whites only" club...and "whites only" were invited to take some field trip.....so really, don't be a fuckin' hypocrite....I'm not buyin' it...
It was a racist club, obvious to everyone but the left wing nuts and Democrats that can't stand being wrong so often about so much....

And there you have it folks....properly challenged, Bravo displays the intellectual level of a humiliated grade schooler....ranting and raving rather than just admitting he cannot logically debate an issue.
I had to go through AOL to get to the site and read the article....seems this "lunch brunch" was cooked up to try and change the low test scores of black students...there seemed to have been no objection of note until this field trip. Since the district is investigating whether a law against preferential treatment was broken, the "lunch bunch" has been disbanded.
See folks, intellectually stumped yahoos like Bravo keep mistaking their supposition and conjecture as fact. Fortunately, those with a GED or better who actually READ CAREFULLY AND COMPREHENSIVELY know better.

You're really reaching here. NO WHITE KIDS were deliberately left out of the club. You are absolutely clueless about the way school clubs work. They don't just spring into existence. A new club has to find a teacher sponsor willing to devote extra time to it. Then the club is proposed to the school board and they make the final decision. The board decides the amount of extra pay the sponsoring teacher will receive, and whether there are any violations of their contract. The school board's solicitor sits in on the meetings. If there were anything illegal going on, the club would not exist.

I've been perfectly clear in my claims, and don't need you to put words in my mouth. The program was open to ANY STUDENT. What part of that is so hard for you to understand? Again, anybody with sub-par academics could join. Since it's illegal to keep anybody out, why don't YOU speculate on the reason others didn't take part?
I know very well what racism is, and I see it clearly in the faux-outrage of these Ann Arbor parents who are upset that their kids didn't get to take a field trip. What's asinine is your conflating the club with the trip and I'm not so fucked that I can't see it. I have kids in school and I'm attuned to the way clubs work, and your arguments are totally off-base. Get educated.
Show me something to prove white kids were left out of the club, intentionally or otherwise, and try to understand that the field trip isn't the same thing as the club.
Why don't you research the school clubs yourself before making such a stupid comment. All clubs have their own particular activities for members only. If Hispanic and Native American students were academically at risk, they should have joined the Lunch Bunch. There was absolutely NOTHING in the by-laws forbidding them to join. Furthermore, the last I checked, Native Americans do get special rights that the rest of us don't. Where's your outrage over this?
The bottom line for me is that you have no real argument and your devolution into foul-mouthed name-calling is the proof. Maybe you should save your spiel for the Ann Arbor parents. You fit like a glove with them.
