Why do Trumppers fall for so many conspiracy theories?

You don't believe in Love is love...
And that is the whole premise behind that flag...;)
You found out it was pride month, so you changed the avatar to show your "support"...but how are you actually showing your support? " Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[a] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Yes, as you and your fellow cult members run around with your red hats, "Trump that Bitch" tee-shirts and trump flags in the back of your ugly pickup trucks. Also, why do we still need trump yard signs? The election is over and yet I still see them in people's yards in rural areas.

Remember, when you accuse others of wrongdoing - you always smoke yourself out if you're a trumptard.

What is it about the Trumper mentality that lends them to believe in so many silly and outrageous conspiracy theories?

Why have they lost their grip in reality?
They don't all necessarily believe the theories.

They propagate them because it's the socially accepted thing to do
within the most perverse and immoral segments of society;

and that now sadly includes roughly half the America population,
most of whom live in red states.

I haven't read any responses on this thread, but here's my general view.....

First, there are plenty of liberal conspiracy theorists. "Crazy" isn't limited to one political party.

Second, we shouldn't label simply believing things that are simply wrong as conspiracy theorizing. The "they're eating the cats" isn't a conspiracy theory. It's the result of laziness. People see a headline, a meme on Twitter, hear the (lying) President speak and just don't take the time to verify anything. Being lazy is easy. With a little effort, one could get the real story about the lady eating a cat in Springfield.

So, on to why Republicans, today, are so susceptible to conspiracy theories?

I think it's almost entirely because of the media sources they consume and believe.

The "MSM" has done itself no favors with the way they've covered Trump, with the liberal bias they put on news stories and terrible progressive ideas they've supported. Not all MSM outlets are equally guilty. For example, CBS suspended a reporter because of his reporting of the Paul Pelosi home break-in. That reporter eventually quit the network. Because of the flaws/dishonesty of the MSM, many on the Right have turned away from MSM to "alternate" outlets for their news. YouTube shows, Facebook memes, Twitter posts, random websites that pop-up overnight, didn't exist 10 years ago, etc.... those outlets don't care about accuracy. They care about clicks, followers and making money and all they have to do is say anything that opposes what the MSM is saying to get clicks, followers, etc.

Also, many on the Right don't seem understand the difference between news and opinions and don't understand the difference between "asking a question" and "reporting news". Fox News has, if I recall correctly, one news show hosted by Bret Baer (sp). All other shows are opinion shows. This is where people like Tucker Carlson come into play. He was the king of "Well, I'm just asking questions. What's wrong with that?" The problem is, people think everything on Fox News is "news", even the disingenuous lies of charlatans like Tucker, Jesse, etc. So, when Tucker says, in the middle of the Covid pandemic, "It appears that thousands of people have died from the Covid vaccine", people hear that as "news", not the ramblings of a grifting, conman.

The snowball effect of those two situations has, over a period of year, turned much of the Republican party into conspiracy theorists.

That whole event was so typical of Trumpian revisionist history. It was a massive crowd, violently breaking the law and assaulting LEOs, and attempting to seize and assault elected officials. Yet when one idiot gets herself shot, suddenly THEY'RE the victims. Odd how everyone associated with the #TangerineTyrant is a "victim."

lol idiot rubbish. Typical of scumbags that they have to lie many times a day. They and their media lost any credibility a long time ago so they have nothing to lose by being even more psychotic and degenerate.

:rofl2:

You just described exactly why the MSM has less than zero credibility. They make billions off of election cycle spending, and then Trump came along and won anyway despite their best attempts at sinking him with lies and distortions and he spent a lot less, proving how ineffective they really are and a waste of money. That was his unforgivable sin where the media is concerned. And, the fact is Fox and its talking heads are indeed more accurate than the Rachel Madcows and the View's moronic Bimboistas. So are the YouTubers and X, for that matter.

Rachel Maddow isn't news. She hosts an opinion show.

The MSM reported the "They're eating the cats" story accurately. There were no Haitian immigrants eating cats in Springfield. The (disturbed) woman was born in the US and went to High School in Springfield.

The president, who is a pathological liar, did not report the story accurately. Facebook and Twitter memes/posters also lied about it. I'd bet that many of the far-right YouTube hosts also did.

That is one example of hundreds that I could provide.

So, yes, the MSM has issues. The news outlets, a term used very loosely, that the Right has turned to are considerably worse, but the Right has convinced itself that sources like Gateway Pundit are "news". They're not.

100%!!!

Sorry, but her show isn't any different than the talking heads who covered the campaign pretending to be 'real journalists'; it was ALL tabloid style crap, period. The reporting on PBS alone was stunning in its ridiculous bias.

There are fa more than enough real such incidents all round the country to make that story believable. And in fact they WERE eating animals they found. You probably left that part out on purpose.

Again, the story of the woman in Springfield, the one shown on the police bodycam when police approached her, was the same story referenced by Trump and lied about by Trump. That same video was posted on Twitter as a "Haitian immigrants eating a cat in Springfield". That is not accurate. She was born in the US and lived most of her life in Springfield, where she want to High School.

Do you have a link to this?

Make all the excuses you want; too many factual stories out there to deflect from it. Trump isn't a reporter, and isn't responsible for others' reports, and like I said, it was entirely beleivable, even if you don't like that fact.

Sorry, no changing the subject. The story of the Haitian immigrant eating cats in Springfield was a lie. A lie that the President of the United States ignorantly and dishonestly spread and a lie that many on the Right, who get their news from garbage news sources like Tweets from random Twitter users, believed and still believe today.

"too many factual stories out there to deflect from it"

Sure there are. I bet they're as factual as the Springfield/cat story.

We all do have opinions.... And a right to express them... I don't make troll threads and posts and blast them all over the forum however.... You are so much more judgemental than I... I don't need to ask your wife about your personal habits...That's not my concern... and poster's family members should never be a part of online discussions, Allegations, or comments...

A real phony

Sorry, you already have. And of course you know what I said is true, which is why you want to keep far away from it. lol

And, the cops in Springfield showed up long after the thieves had left, and of course never investigated it, as usual. So, we're left with the witness's report, or your sniveling. Most will go with the eyewitness report.

I don't know it's true. What is one of the factual stories about Haitian immigrants eating pets or random animals?
