Shaken, not stirred!
Just remember people, just prior to the October 7th sneak attack (?) by Hamas, the Israeli population were ready to legally throw Yahoo and his Likud party out on their asses ... that was because they were a bunch of corrupt assholes cheating their way into office/power and lining their pockets.
Then low and behold, there's the cluster fuck of all security screw ups, as Yahoo and company move pertinent troops and such from one section of "the wall" even when OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE REGION WARNED OF SUSPICIOUS HAMAS ACTIVITY. Tragedy ensues.
So now Yahoo and the boys are the sworn protectors ...... revenge tenfold, etc., etc. Yep, now they have justification to literally wipe out the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. And they're confident that USA will unconditionally have their back.
But systematic near genocide is not enough.... now Yahoo is cocky enough to go after Iran, spewing the SOS he has for 30 years that Iran is "just around the corner" of developing a viable nuke weapon. And of course, he expects the USA to join in.
Thing is that the general population of America isn't cool with putting troops in harm's way for Israel ... especially when Israel is initiating a conflict.
My take: if people think that the noise about the rise of antisemitism on college campuses and around the country in the last few years was bad, then brother, you ain't seen nothing yet until another back door draft gets started and the first American casualty comes in. And yes, people of Arab descent and practicing Muslims will be on the hot seat too.
Now Cheeto Jeezus is trying to figure out a way how to come out on top of this in the PR dept., what with his campaign speeches about wheeling and dealing quick solutions and avoiding wars .... at the same time posturing as a tough guy. And since he's surrounded himself with appointed incompetents, sycophants and fascist/theocratic ideologues, a rational solution doesn't seem to be on the horizon.
As a co-worker once said, "It's a hot mess!"
As the old curse goes, we are living in interesting times.
