President Donald Trump reignited his long-running feud with Fox News on Thursday, accusing the network of pushing “crooked” and “fake” polling data in a heated post on Truth Social.
Trump’s latest tirade appeared to be triggered by both past and current polling results shared by the network. In his post, he slammed Fox News for what he called years of biased and inaccurate polling that, in his view, undermines his political success and the broader MAGA movement.
“The Crooked FoxNews Polls got the Election WRONG, I won by much more than they said I would, and have been biased against me for years. They are always wrong and negative,” Trump wrote. “It’s why MAGA HATES FoxNews, even though their anchors are GREAT. This has gone on for years, but they never change the incompetent polling company that does their work.”
Despite acknowledging that some of the network’s on-air personalities remain popular among his supporters, Trump made it clear that he believes the network’s pollsters are working against him and the movement he leads.
He continued by taking aim at a recent Fox News poll regarding border security an issue central to his political platform.
“Now a new FoxNews poll comes out this morning giving me a little more than 50% at the Border, and yet the Border is miraculously perfect, NOBODY WAS ABLE TO COME IN LAST MONTH,” he said. “60,000 people came in with Sleepy Joe in the same month last year.”
Trump used the border comparison to suggest that his policies were significantly more effective than those of President Joe Biden, and criticized the poll for not reflecting that perceived success more clearly.
He ended his post with another swipe at Fox’s polling operation, writing, “I hate FAKE pollsters, one of the Worst, but Fox will never change their discredited pollster!”
Trump’s contentious relationship with Fox News has intensified over the years, as he frequently targets the network’s coverage and data when it doesn’t align with his narrative. His remarks come as polling continues to play a major role in shaping public perception ahead of the 2024 election one in which Trump remains the Republican frontrunner.
