DonOld Medicaid Cuts

Will result in rural hospitals being closed.

“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) would result in 1.8 million individuals in rural communities losing their Medicaid coverage by 2034. In addition, select Medicaid provisions in H.R. 1 would result in a $50.4 billion reduction in federal Medicaid spending on rural hospitals over 10 years.1 See the chart on the next page for a state-by-state breakdown of rural spending and coverage losses.

Rural Hospitals Are Already Struggling:

  • 48% of rural hospitals operated at a financial loss in 2023.2
  • 92 rural hospitals have closed their doors or been unable to continue providing inpatient services over the past 10 years.3
  • Rural hospitals lose money on several critical service lines, including behavioral health, pulmonology, obstetrics, and burns and wounds.4
What's more important? Tax giveaways for billionaires, or healthcare for working/elderly people?

Most hospitals are struggling right now, offering fewer services every year.

Eliminating fraud and abuse =/= "cuts".

One would think if Democrats really cared about this (if you read your own link) they would have resolved it years ago or in the last administration.
Obviously they did not.
You were asleep when Obama tried it? Bill Clinton did too. But the lobbying power of PHARM, medical equipment manufacturers and hospitals stopped them in their tracks. In America money not only talks, but swears.

Obama caused this problem with passing Obamacare. Expanded Medicare was to be subsidized on a shrinking basis by the feds with the states picking up the tab completely after like a decade. Instead, states, particularly deep blue ones, acted as if the federal gravy train of money would never end. Now, they're bitching and whining that Trump wants to end that gravy train.

I say, FUCK THEM! If you want expanded Medicare, then pay for it like you agreed to over a decade ago.

Yawn. Have you looked into Self-euthanasia? Please do. Now would be good.

And that has what to do with the last Administration not dealing with this issue?
You want the last Administration to pay this administration's bills? It is like crying that your father did not pay your rent. A some point, the current administration has to take responsibility for the current bills.

Trump is a fucking malignant idiot.
More than seventy-seven million morally and intellectually lacking American voted for him.
How can we be anything BUT a shithole right now?

America simply has TOO MANY DEFICIENT PEOPLE
to amount to anything good in its present configuration.
As a republic, it's completely collapsing around us and on top of us.

The US is bankrupt. The world accepts the fact that the US will not pay off its debt. Where do we go from default?

Illegal immigrants use the ER like a family Practice doctor and the majority do not pay anything for their care. The hospital has to absorb that cost. There were hospitals near the border that had to close their doors because of immigrants that did not pay their medical bills. So Trump sending illegals home will actually HELP hospitals

All our debts are in a currency we create, so real default is impossible. There is a possibility of a technical default, where we have the money to pay, just do not, but real default is impossible.

We can service all our debts, so we are no where close to bankruptcy. No one wants us to pay off our debts, because some US Government debt is required for the economy to work. More importantly, we could balance the budget with some cuts, and some tax increases. It would even help the economy.

Canada will not want New York.
New York City is the financial capital of the world. It is an extremely productive place. The only problem Canada would have with accepting New York State is that it has nearly half the population of Canada. Throw in New England and New Jersey, and Canadians would be a minority in their own country. In short, the New York area, and New England are too big for Canada to swallow.

Right now Canada is looking for tighter relations with the EU. Canada has historically been very intertwined with the USA, but are looking to a future that is separate from the USA. There is even talk of Canada joining the EU.

It sounds crazy to talk of New York joining the EU too, at least right now. A lot of things that sounded crazy a year ago, now seem possible. Who knows where we will be in a year or three.
