Can anyone make a cogent case for how birthright citizenship is good for America?

Insurance - The money that is collected from premiums is paid out to other people.
Social Security - The money that is collected from taxes is paid out to other people.

I always find statements like that to be humorous. They tend to reveal more about the person making them than about the person they are trying to accuse of something.
Yes yes of course whatever you say. SS is a fucking ponzi scheme

Yeah what that statement says about me is I don't need a mommy like you do.

The more Americans born in the US the more workers there will be in 18 years making contributions to Social Security which will help keep it solvent.

Yuppers. The Right whines about low birthrates for Americans but turns their noses up at potential "brown" people filling in the gaps. That's the fear, though, isn't it? The fear of "displacement" by "others" that dog the Right so much. As if that somehow matters rather than the society you build to house those people.

So right wing logic is that if you're born in America, you are not a citizen of America. Where would you be a citizen? Are you a child without a nation? Everyone's parents came from somewhere else. I guess we are birthing children without a country.
Rightys believe the crazy shit they are suggestting will not be used on them.
Exactly. It's a crazy idea.

A child without a country.

Every newborn is issued a birth certificate.

In a sense. But then Social Security isn't there to make anyone "rich". It's how social networks often work, especially when one is talking about "end of career" type networks. OF COURSE it's going to be paid by the current crop to cover the current retirees.

So to call it a "Ponzi" scheme is to be derogatory toward a system that is actually extremely helpful.

You will one day need Social Security. Unless you die while you are hearty and hale. We all will. At some point you can't work anymore at the level you currently do and you won't "earn" a high salary (especially for the manual type labor you probably do for a living). So why attack SS?

I guess your parents aren't old enough to have been born in the Depression. Mine were. So I got to hear a LOT about what life was like before things like Social Security as well as what life is like in abject poverty.

Net flow analysis?
Jan 1, 2021 - June 1, 2024
Total encounters - 10.079 million
Total expulsions at the border - 2.561 million
Total ruled inadmissible and removed - 2.867 million

Total apprehended and not immediately removed - 4.651 million
Total removed at the border 5.428 million

Data can be downloaded from here using "Get the data" link -

4.65 million is not tens of millions

ICE estimates they encountered 78% of those trying to cross the border. That leaves about 3 million that may have made it across without being apprehended by ICE.

7.65 million is not tens of millions. Even if Biden deported zero persons, it would be impossible for him to have allowed entry to tens of millions.
I'm pleased that you are providing data, but your data is incomplete. Tens of millions is the order of magnitude of those allowed in, mostly escorted by border patrol (I posted photos) for which there were no data collected.

I won't dispute your numbers, they simply omit the key entries in question.

So right wing logic is that if you're born in America, you are not a citizen of America.
Incorrect. Right wing logic says that all those born in the US, except those born to parents of a hostile occupying force or those born to parents of diplomats, are citizens, i.e. what the Constitution reads.

My data is wrong because you have no data?
The data I provided is data that comes directly from border patrol who collects the data that for some reason you claim they don't collect.

Would you care to back up any of your assertions with anything at all that doesn't make you seem delusional?

You don't speak for Jesus Christ.
You don't speak for "top economists"
You don't speak for God, Sybil.

The story was that old people were living on dog and cat food before SS came along Cat food was cheap back then. FDR was disgusted that American old people were reduced to such low levels. Some were starving ,many were suffering. FDR knew in order to pass it, that there had to be a guarantee that tax money would not be used if there were shortages. The wealthy would not have allowed that. SS is paid for by those working now. We old people paid when we were young to help the seniors.
SS was an attempt to be kind to people in bad circumstances that they could not rectify. It provided some dignity and security to old people.

MAGAts couldn't care less. So much for the US being a "Christian nation", eh?

Poverty is not helpful.

It's unsustainable. It is now the single largest budget item in the federal government, and the federal government is $37 trillion in debt with a $5 trillion revenue.
I guess your parents aren't old enough to have been born in the Depression.
They were born before the Great Depression and lived through it.
I have lived through the recent depressions caused by Democrats...the Price Control depression during Carter, the 2001 crash (caused by policies set by the Clintons and the easy money causing the boom.bust.com economy), the Obama years (that depression was triggered by overspeculation in real estate and Obama's response to it), and the Biden years (the Covid Hoax depression).

The Great Depression, which lasted 26 years, was triggered by overspeculation in stocks and WW2, and FDR's response to it.

The Great Depression saw the devaluation of the dollar by 75%. The last depression during the Biden years saw the devaluation of the dollar by 34%.

Sources: US Treasury, OMB, and the Federal Reserve.

It's fear, cowardice and ignorance all wrapped up in a big, sticky MAGA ball.
