Womens' sports: looks like common sense is finally reemerging

What part of…”Blocking Anti-Trans Sports Legislation: Senate Democrats have blocked Republican-led bills that aimed to ban transgender athletes from women's sports in federally funded schools.” is confusing you?

Nope. That tells you they don't think it's a federal issue. That doesn't address the question I asked you.

"Most Democrats — around 7 in 10 — oppose allowing transgender female athletes to participate in women’s sports, according to a January New York Times/Ipsos poll."

Nope, it tells you that Senate Democrats have blocked Republican-led bills that aimed to ban transgender athletes from women's sports in federally funded schools..

It appears to be confusing you.

It’s is a federal issue. The Democrats used that as an excuse to not support women in sports and to support trans freaks in women’s sports.

This will not be forgotten and will be in Republic ads next election.

Yes, Title IX is a federal law. It's formally known as Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. This law prohibits discrimination based on sex in any federally funded education program or activity

The American people now know that far left Democrats value trans freaks who break the facial bones of women who are volley ball players, over women in sports..

Indeed it will be remembered.

You still didn't answer the question I asked.

You answered the question you wanted to be asked.

Just because you and 50 MAGA senators say it's a federal issue does not prove it's a federal issue.

I don’t take orders, especially from those who support trans freaks in women’s sports.

Have someone read and explain this to you:

Thanks for admitting you didn't answer my question, you just answered the question you wanted asked.

Title 9 has never been used to dictate to college athletic directors and coaches who can play on the teams.

You're trying to make a gigantic mountain out of a little tiny molehill.

Every poll I've seen showed that around 70 percent of Democrats always consistently opposed transgender athletes competing on women's teams.
As they should, but I'm not sure about those polls. Whereas the NCAA now realizes the folly of it's previous guidelines, it is only Blue states that still allow transgender athletes to compete against women.

The Thomas case was especially heinous because it took away basic rights of privacy in the locker room from the women. They were forced to share facilities with a fully intact male who admits to being attracted to women. Said women were basically told to 'suck it up', as the NCAA erred on the side of trans rights.

If anyone should apologize, it should be the NCAA. U. Penn. was just following flawed guidelines.

So some women need to be protected but others don't . What about equal protection under the law?

U Penn was complicit

Nonsense. There will be no apologies. But stripping Thomas is a good thing.

Damn. Before July 1st I would have said the same thing. But this time it is actually true.

Penn to update records, apologize to women ‘disadvantaged’ by transgender swimmer

By
Washington — The University of Pennsylvania says it will update records set by transgender swimmer Lia Thomas and apologize to female athletes “disadvantaged” by Thomas’ participation on the women’s swimming team, part of a resolution of a federal civil rights case.

The U.S. Education Department and Penn announced the voluntary agreement Tuesday. The case focused on Thomas, the transgender swimmer who last competed for the Ivy League school in Philadelphia in 2022, when she became the first openly transgender athlete to win a Division I title.

The department investigated Penn as part of the Trump administration’s broader attempt to remove transgender athletes from girls’ and women’s sports, finding the college violated the rights of female athletes.

AI Overview

Public opinion and political stances on transgender athletes in women's sports have evolved and are complex
.
Democratic Politicians and Transgender Athlete Participation:
  • Blocking Anti-Trans Sports Legislation: Senate Democrats have blocked Republican-led bills that aimed to ban transgender athletes from women's sports in federally funded schools. They have described such bills as politically motivated and a distraction.
  • Deferring to Local Communities and Leagues: Some Democrats, when faced with issues surrounding fairness in sports for transgender athletes, have stated that rules of participation should be determined by local communities, schools, and leagues rather than the federal government.
  • Concerns about Unfair Advantages: Some Democrats have acknowledged concerns about potential unfair advantages in sports while also stressing the importance of avoiding the demonization of transgender athletes.
  • Shift in Perspective: Recent polls suggest that Democrats' support for allowing transgender athletes to play on teams matching their current gender identity has declined, resulting in a more divided stance within the party

Don’t pretend that Democrats did not support trans freaks in women’s sports.

The ones on this forum did too, including you.

Most of the left on here defended it, Including Crypiss.

Newsom said that, and then still had trans athletes competing, has done nothing to change the law...

California Governor Gavin Newsom expressed on his podcast "This Is Gavin Newsom" in March 2025 that he believes it is "deeply unfair" for transgender women to compete in women's sports, citing fairness concerns in a conversation with conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Despite these remarks, California’s existing law, enacted in 2013 under then-Governor Jerry Brown, allows transgender athletes to participate in school sports consistent with their gender identity. Newsom has not taken action to change this law, and it remains in effect, meaning transgender women and girls continue to compete in women's sports in California.

In April 2025, California lawmakers rejected two Republican-backed bills that aimed to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports, indicating that the state’s policy has not shifted despite Newsom’s comments. Newsom declined to take a position on these bills, and his office has not confirmed any plans to alter the 2013 law. Additionally, in May 2025, Newsom supported a decision by the California Interscholastic Federation to expand eligibility for a track and field meet after controversy over a transgender athlete’s participation, suggesting a nuanced approach to balancing fairness with existing policies.

Thus, while Newsom voiced personal concerns about the fairness of transgender women competing in women’s sports, he has not moved one iota towards changing California’s policy, does not speak out or give opinions when those laws are in question, and transgender athletes continue to participate in women’s sports under the state’s current legal framework.

This is a classic case of saying one thing, then acting differently. It can also be called lying, and usually is by Cypress if someone he doesn't agree with politically does the same thing.

It's totally different questions as to whether one desires school districts and universities themselves to prevent transgender athletes from participating in NCAA women's sports, or whether one thinks a federal ban is necessary and the appropriate response.

Usually, conservatives claim we have too many laws already.

Outside of a small vocal minority, I don't remember hardly any Democrats defending Lia Thomas participating in the Penn women's swim team, and crushing all their records. That was preposterous, but I'm not going to get gas lighted into believing a tiny little mole hill is a gigantic mountain of a problem.

So, you think it is "not conservative" to want to remove a law that forces schools to do something that he has said is "Deeply Unfair" and you have said you do not want?

You think they need to pass a law rather than to remove one? You are flailing. Desperate to gaslight us into some weird belief in a world where you vote for the people that do this you don't "really" support it. You are helpless "victims" of the folks you give money and votes to... forced to just stand there in dismay as they support laws you don't want that treat your daughters... well, as Newsom said "deeply unfair".

Next time you write that check supporting the people that go against what you say you want, and then cast that vote, and then tell me how much you didn't want the policies they have put in place... well, just know we aren't listening to your "we don't support that" we are watching your actions as you give support and votes to them... because that is exactly what you do.

You keep saying these things, but continue to vote for the people who make these laws, support the policies in the schools, and remain defensive when people point out the hypocrisy between your words and actions. If you want us to believe you are actually against this garbage do something about it, otherwise we'll continue to point out that you got what you voted for.

You want to distance yourself from your support and vote, from their inaction against and actions for, and you want us to believe that because they lie about it we are supposed to just believe that Newsom and your legislators are just victims of circumstance as they pass laws that 80% of you do not support?
