Should Trump Ban Property Taxes Nationwide?

Only for the mansions. They have eliminated taxes on Yachts and personal jets, so this follows.

I'm not just talking about eliminating property taxes on obama's mansion in Martha's Vineyard, rather, I'm/Trump
are talking about eliminating property taxes on every capitalist and or every homeowner who has used their
capitalist strength and ingenuity to be able to own their own property/homes. Socialists need not worry for the
bulk of them don't have jobs and or don't get taxed anyway.

Schools are paid for by property taxes. All people should pay for the services we supply. You want to pay no taxes and use all the stuff that society supplies. You Trumpys are so easily fooled and illogical. The wealthier you are, the more we provide for you. Yet, the smaller tax rate is a gift to them. Damn, are you a suckup to the super-rich.

I voted 'YES'
Congratulations on voting to defund the police.

No property taxes on a primary residence? Absolutely!

Tax commercial properties and secondary and on residential properties, but not someone's home. That means you own your house and the government can't take it away. I don't care if it's a palatial mansion or a single-wide on a dirt lot. It's yours to own forever. That's how it should be.

No property taxes on home then no police protection for your home. No fire department service if your home starts on fire.
Why do you think you should get that stuff for free?

How does one follow the other? Taxes are taxes. What's taxed is all that changes here. Whether taxes come from income or property makes no difference. So, if your primary residence is untaxed, other things are taxed slightly more to make up for that loss. Cum hoc ergo prompter hoc fallacy on your part.

What other sources? Are you going to institute a local income tax to pay for them? Every city, county and school district has a sales tax?
Sales tax, more taxes on commercial properties, corporate taxes, income taxes. The difference can be made up no problem whatsoever. Note, I stated no tax only on a primary residence. Sure, tax that shopping center. Tax that apartment complex owned by some corporation. Tax the rich guy's vacation home(s). But the house you live in--you get one property--goes untaxed because that's your home and the government can't take it away from you.

No, it can't be made up no problem whatsoever. Just drive around to the various communities that surround Phoenix and look at those that have very little retail or commercial properties. What business would stay in those communities if they are paying all the taxes? If the property taxes on a business property go from 2% of value to 20% of value what does that do to business profits?

So, people that rent would have to pay property taxes because they are too poor to own a home but those rich enough to own a home are exempted? Like a typical RWer you can't even begin to see the unintended consequences of your simple stupid solution.

You are full of shit that there's no alternative. There are already states and localities with virtually no property taxes. It can be done, and in my opinion, should be done. Your home is yours and you are not renting it from the government.

And, I have no problem with those taxes being redirected to commercial properties. I'd also say it would be a great incentive to get more people to be owners rather than renters. The Left loves renters because it gives them more control over them in increasing government. The Left hates the idea that someone could outright own stuff and the government can't take it away.

No property tax for seniors is not the same thing as no property tax.
You are paying for the services that government provides like police, fire, roads, water, sewer, schools etc.

It always amazes me how stupid people think they get nothing from government.

I limited my answer to No property tax on a primary residence. There are also places in the US, particularly rural, where fire departments are by subscription, there are no police, trash pickup, if it exists, is by private contract, and sewer service doesn't exist (septic systems). Schools can be funded by other taxes and usually are. In Arizona, there are lots of alternatives to public education, and most are better than public education.

It always amazes me how stupid people think that the government is the answer to everything.

Oh.. I didn't realize only seniors own their own home. 😭

People that live in rural areas still require some services, with roads being a huge one. That is why even rural property owners pay property taxes to their county.
