Alright - Where My Stoners At?

LurchAddams

There Can be Only One!
So I had quit MJ about 2 years ago because it wasn't doing anything good for me. But then trump got reelected and I needed some serious mood adjusting. My local dispensary has the lowest f'ing prices I've ever seen! Right now I'm enjoying nice hybrid called "Stay Puft Reserve". An 8th cost me $25 and it'll last me weeks!

Anyone else a connoisseur of the wacky tah-bakee?

Been legal in my state. More potent and cheaper than when illegal.

I started back. Just a couple of hits in the a.m. and then again at night before going to bed.
Mostly vape.
It's legal in AK.
It's been semi-legal here since 1975.

In 1975, the Alaska Supreme Court ruled in Ravin v. State that the state constitution’s right to privacy protected the possession, cultivation, and consumption of small amounts of marijuana in the home, effectively decriminalizing up to four ounces for personal use. This made Alaska one of the earliest states to decriminalize home cultivation, though it was not full legalization.

Oh, absolutely! And buying it legally ensures the products is inspected for weird pesticides and other non-natural additives! I hate to think what we all used to inhale back in high school (LOL "high" school). <--- stoner humor!

rotflmao is that what they're telling you halfwits???

filth and sewage found in commercial marijuana sold in stores

Filth and sewage in commercial marijuana: what you need to know
There have been concerning reports regarding the contamination of legally sold commercial marijuana products with various harmful substances, including the possibility of filth and even pathogens associated with sewage. This situation poses significant health risks to consumers.

Causes of contamination
  • Pesticides: Many instances of contamination involve pesticides, some of which are harmful to human health.
  • Heavy Metals: Cannabis plants can absorb heavy metals from the soil, such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic, which can be harmful when consumed. Cannabis's efficiency in absorbing heavy metals is so high that it has even been used in phytoremediation, a method of removing pollutants from soil.
  • Microbial Contamination: Bacteria, mold, and fungus can contaminate cannabis during various stages, including growth, processing, and storage. Mold, like Aspergillus, has been found in some products, and could potentially cause severe lung infections, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems. Other bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli, potentially linked to human or animal waste contamination, have also been a concern.

Health Risks
Consumption of contaminated cannabis can lead to a variety of health issues, including:
  • Respiratory problems
  • Allergic reactions
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Neurological problems
  • In severe cases, potentially life-threatening infections, particularly for immunocompromised individuals.

Regulatory Challenges
  • Federal Illegality: The federal illegality of cannabis creates challenges for nationwide safety standards and oversight.
  • Inconsistent State Regulations: Regulations for cannabis production and testing vary significantly from state to state, leaving gaps in consumer protection.
  • Concerns with Testing: Some reports raise concerns about the independence and thoroughness of testing labs, especially when funded by the cultivators themselves.

What consumers can do
  • Stay Informed: Pay attention to news reports and alerts from regulatory bodies about product recalls and contamination warnings.
  • Be Cautious: Be wary of products from unregulated sources and inspect products for any signs of mold or other contamination before consuming them.
  • Report Concerns: If you suspect you have consumed contaminated cannabis or experience adverse health effects, seek medical attention and report it to the retailer and relevant regulatory authorities.

Sturgeon General's Warning:

Smoking marijuana is, weight for weight, volume for volume, three times more carcinogenic than tobacco so don't blame others if you get cancer and die from it.

No. I've enjoyed cannabis in the past--not for many years now--
but I've never been a connoisseur.

Now might probably be a good time to start,
but I don't want to smoke again. Quitting smoking was very hard roughly thirty-one years ago.
I've been meaning to try edibles for a while now.
Never got around to it.

Good lord, even if I wasn't a stoner - if I lived in AK, I'd have to start in order to make it through the never-ending days!

There are plenty of non-smoking options. I take about 300g of a tincture called "Lucid" before bed. It's cannabis suspended in coconut oil. I just drink it down! It knocks me out really well and I say out for about 6 hours. Also, there are vaping options but that's pretty close to smoking.

I have been seeing claims that using non smoking nicotine delivery systems would be a plus for humanity, because contrary to what I have been told my whole life it is good for us.
Nah. I dipped Copenhagen for 10 years. Quitting that shit was the smartest thing I ever did. No more tobacco for me.

Here's a selling point:

Tobacco - raises your blood pressure.

Marijuana - <what do you thin it does to your blood pressure?>. Yep, it lowers it!

By the way - Danks in Tumwater/Oly closed! Come to the Edmonds Danks - they have the best prices and quality anywhere I've been.

I switched to 420 Carpenter a long time ago, maybe a year before Danks moved.

RE nicotine and BP this sounds a lot like the BS we are told about salt and BP.....it is a problem for very few people.....but lots of fear porn is created around it.
