House Speaker Mike Johnson is distancing himself from President Donald Trump on the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Johnson said the controversy around the late sex offender’s case is “not a hoax” and urged “full transparency” in an interview with CBS News’ chief Washington correspondent, Major Garrett, that aired Thursday.

Johnson’s comment directly undercuts Trump’s narrative that the backlash over his handling of the Epstein files is a “hoax” engineered by Democrats.

trump helped Epstein procure children for sex, so obviously he will be in the files. The question is whether there is enough evidence to prosecute trump, or whether he will be able to maintain plausible deniability.

Again, I would be very happy if trump, Wexner, Barr, and the rest were caught. I just do not see it as happening. There has been a lot of effort into plausible deniability.

I certainly do not think trump is the person to get to the bottom of his own case.
 
Trump is in the videos, photos and on flight logs. He knows what he was doing. He has much to hide. He will use all the power he has to determine what in the Epstein files will get out. It will not be his involvement with Epstein that will be released to the public.
