Again trying to explain this in a way even stupid people should be able to understand.
Do you understand why 'making coal great again' can be a Magat issue that Dems do not care about when Biden is in, but if Trump today abandons Coal, that the Dems supporters CAN and SHOULD call them out on that hypocrisy?
You are trying to create a situation where only the issues Dems and Magats each share in pushing as their priorities can be called out and discussed by the other.
The Dems would have a ton of priorities that magats would not care about and discuss and vice versa, but if the other gets power and abandons that position, that they call out.
Do you disagree? Do you think parties can and should only call out the items they both push as part of their agenda?

For 2028 assume we have a Dem Potus win who, along with his surrogates, had as a big part of election push a promise to the base to bring back the Green Energy programs Trump killed.
During that campaign season and all thru Trump's 2024 presidency they did not talk about green energy, as they had accomplished what they wanted and they focus on issues important to magats.
Shortly after the 2028 Dem Potus is sworn in, he announces he is doing nothing with Green energy, and Dems should move on and this is not to be an issue.
@Damocles is it your view that magats and republicans SHOULD NOT make an issue of this and would be wrong to since they did not have it as an issue during Trumps presidency, after they completed what they wanted in shutting programs down, and also did not campaign on it?

It is my view that Trump made this bed, and now he gets to sleep in it. He's handled it poorly and looks, as I have stated earlier, like a five year old holding a cookie behind his back, face stained with chocolate, telling his mother that he has no idea what happened to the chocolate cookies.
However, that doesn't change that they aren't saying the Dems made this up... they are saying they never cared until now when they think Trump is vulnerable.

Read my example above about Green Energy and imagine a Dem Potus 'and his surrogates making his bed' by pushing as part of his agenda that he will 'bring back green energy' but then getting elected and saying 'forget what i said... move on... no action on green energy happening'.
Do you understand that Magats calling out that dem potus EVEN IF THEY NEVER cared about green energy as part of their magat agenda is ok to do and proper to do? And to try and criticize magats that way would be stupid?

if the next Dem Potus did stick it to his base and proclaim 'move on... we are not doing any of that green energy stuff i pushed in the campaign', the magats here were rightly calling him out on it, anyone on the left replying with 'but you magats did not have green energy as part of your platform' as a way to suggest it is wrong to call him out, would be stupid too.

I avoid giving opinions on topics that I do not care about.
I gave my opinion on what I think of how I think Trump appears here, and that I think Democrats are taking advantage of it and that it is his own fault. What other people are saying was a fact, and I simply point out the facts in that case. I have no opinion in whether it is "stupid" for them to point out that Dems are suddenly interested in a topic for which they had no interest. I simply know that is what they are saying.
Once I see how effective such a position is I'll have an opinion. I am not sure if it is "stupid" to say, I will be sure once I know if it was effective or not.

They are trying to use as an accusation the equivalent of 'The Dem potus promised his supporters he would put back in place green energy programs and as soon as he was elected he told them to shut up and he is not doing it, and that they should move on', and the argument is that it would be wrong for magats to criticize that Dem Potus for breaking that promise since they were not talking about Green energy in their election planks.
The proper reply from you, if you feel the need to jump in is to say to the magats they are trying to create a false connection or false argument. A strawman argument. Not to tell them they are correct when what they are saying is entirely irrelevant to the argument.
But your gut instinct is to always defend magats.
