WSJ Poll: Economic Optimism Surges 11 Points Under Trump, Recent Record

A new Wall Street Journal poll released today reveals a striking 11-point surge in the number of Americans who rate the U.S. economy as "excellent" or "good," the most positive outlook recorded in Journal surveys since 2021.

This surge in economic optimism appears to be giving President Donald Trump a critical boost in his political standing — even as voters voice concerns with key aspects of his domestic and trade agenda.

According to the poll, 47% of registered voters now view the economy in positive terms, up from just 36% in April.

This shift marks a significant break in a yearslong trend of economic pessimism that has defined much of the post-pandemic era.

Meanwhile, the percentage of respondents who rated the economy as "not good" or "poor" dropped to 51%, a substantial improvement from 63% just three months ago.

Tariffs Are Working, Author Says

You sometimes hear that President Donald Trump's tariffs are causing inflation, or will cause it, or could cause it, but so far the numbers show that US tariffs are working for the economy.

That's what writer and author of the book, "Reshore: Tariffs Will Bring Our Jobs Home and Revive the American Dream," says.

Spencer Morrison says they're economic tools that will slowly get the United States back to a good place of political and economic independence.

"The tariffs are not inflationary, we saw this in President Trump's first term," he says.

"President Trump proposed pretty significant tariffs. Did the cost of living go up or did it go down? Well, we all know it went down."

It's possible that the people who are convinced that tariffs will hurt the US either don't understand how they work or they have a lack of confidence in the power of US markets.

"One in four foreign companies are eating 100% of the cost of the tariffs, and then most of them are falling somewhere in the middle," he adds.

Your imbecilic replies are just hilarious.
Let them have their laughs for now, Trump's BBB and tariffs have not all gone into effect yet when they do the shit will hit the fan.
Heck even Trump has told them all his BS is going to hurt the American people.
They are too stupid to realize they have voted against their own best interest.

As always Tbird is an ignorant shitstain, and a pimple of the forum's ass
IF Trumps tariffs weren't going to hurt the American consumer why are they introducing a bill in Congress to give a family of four 2400 dollars back. The same amount that economists say will cost the American consumer for Trumps tariffs.?
American families could soon receive up to $2,400 in rebate checks under a new proposal backed by President Donald Trump. The plan, introduced by Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, would return money collected through Trump’s tariffs directly to U.S. households.

The initiative, named the American Worker Rebate Act, was introduced on Monday. It proposes rebate checks similar to the pandemic-era stimulus payments: $600 per adult and $600 per child, amounting to $2,400 for a family of four.

IF Trumps tariffs weren't going to hurt the American consumer why are they introducing a bill in Congress to give a family of four 2400 dollars back . . . .

Because you retarded fuckface, ALL tax money belongs to the people in the first place!!
Democrats stole it to pay for homo puppet shows in Uruguay and tranny theaters in Viet Nam.

Wholesalers and retailers are getting ready for Trumps tariffs to hit tomorrow and ready to pass them on to the US consumer driving up the cost of just about everything we buy.
Wholesalers and distributors inside the U.S. economy, which represent one-third of GDP, warn of a massive hit if Trump's August 1 deadline tariffs are enacted.
and if you hit companies that represent 1/3 of the GDP you can bet it will be effected and not in a good way.
Keep cheering it will take a little time for them and Trumps BBB to work through the system but when they do it isn't going to be pretty for the American people.
