Trumps mandate that truckers speak English!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Arby the rural rube truck driver in between operating a drill press  :palm:
guno, the trolling bigoted racist pig, just won't stop quoting me. He follows me around like a hungry puppy. As immature as they come.
Oh, and yes, I drilled .008 cross holes on a Bridgeport, using the drilling quill.

Where did I say I have a problem with "brown people driving on US roadways"? Brown people do speak English, ya know.
Ya huh. But those that don't are brown, and that's your issue. Not the language. Give me a COMMON situation where a non-English speaker who has passed the trucker-exam presents a danger to the public.

Another win for Trump and this liberal is all for it.....Imagine being in this country for decades, driving a 16 wheeler packed with products and sometimes dangerous products and you can't speak a lick of English? Check out this video and tell me your thoughts? Unbelievable how companies trying to save a buck and edge out American workers, hire these people, put them on American roads and highways transporting their goods and these truckers not only can't speak English, BUT ALSO CAN'T READ SIGNS POSTED IN ENGLISH...THAT'S SOME SHIT.
Just like pilots.

I'm laughing at you now. Really, really hard. Yes, I feel safe with truckers on the road where English isn't their first language - you know why? Because truckers not only have to have a valid drivers' license to get a trucking job where you actually have to pass a test, which includes rules of the road to drive - then, to get a truckers' license you have to pass even more stringent tests.

Here's some real-world info, tiger. Companies are all-about incident-avoidance. In my company vehicle I have a dash-cam that records all my driving habits and holds me accountable if I have an "event", such as having to stop short for a pedestrian. All trucking companies, where their truck is owned, have that as well.

Independant truckers have dash-cams, as well for their own protection. If someone claims an accident is your fault and you have evidence to the contrary, it's golden.

You're welcome!
English is required to hold a CDL in the United States. That law has been around since 1937. Trump and the DOT secretary are now taking extra steps to enforce it.

If a driver can't handle English, they get shut down and they lose their CDL privileges. The truck itself will be impounded until a driver can be obtained that qualifies to hold a CDL (that means speaking and reading and writing English). Storage fees will be charged to the trucking company that hired the unqualified driver. Further, if the driver turns out to be an illegal alien, the trucking company may face additional federal charges and that driver will be deported.

Try explaining the finer points of Truck driving, like the mandated rest hours for each period of driving. Or the appropriate Reaction expected with a Truck drives upon the scene of an accident of several other vehicles. Or the technical requirements of applying Diesel Exhaust Fluid to a Tractor Engine. Or the subtle and complex expectations of modifying maximum driving speed for weather, lighting, and road conditions. They certainly cannot follow radio broadcast DOT, DHS and NOAH emergency instructions.

No one who cannot speak English should be driving on American Roads. Just like no one who cannot speak and read Mexican, should be driving on Mexican Roads. Just like no one who cannot speak and read German should be driving on German Roads.

And we don't let people without a pilot's license, experience, and the appropriate language skills, fly jet airliners either.

Why is this a debate subject?

No person in the United States may obtain a pilot's license of any grade, or fly any aircraft unless they can speak, read, and write the English language. It doesn't matter if it's an ultralight, a Cessna, or a 747.

Reference: CFR 61.103(c)

All CDL drivers must be able to speak, read, and write English. The class of the vehicle does not matter.

Reference: CFR 49.398.3(c)(4)

In both cases, they must also be a citizen of the United States. For foreign CDLs and foreign pilots, there are certain very limited exceptions for Mexican and Canadian drivers or pilots from other nations IF they can meet the English requirement and all other aspects of the CDL requirements or airspace requirements.. Illegal aliens are not qualified to operate any CDL vehicle, or any aircraft.
