The new MAGA? Make America....

Yep. What a lot of our MAGATy derps don't seem to realize is that American manufacturing/production is as strong as it ever was. We just do it now with automation rather than human-staffed assembly lines. Any company plannning to open a factory here is going to weigh the costs of infrastructure, robotics, finding skilled labor to "supervise" the robots, and whether the final cost of their finished products will be economically viable. For now, it is far cheaper to make a pair of jeans or sneakers overseas than it is here.
I was an industrial electrician for one of the big three and over the years when they retooled the lines we would be putting in a lot of automation.
Back in the 1970's and early 80's we had almost 10,000 people working at the plant and now they have just under 800 people total, workers and supervision.
And they are putting out just as many cars and trucks as we use to with those 10,000 people.
YES companies will be putting in automation and AI every where they can to save money in the long run.

They''ve been interviewing local shop owners and small business owners on our local news the last few months. They are worried about the tariffs and how they can afford to maintain their products w/o raising prices and driving customers away. We recently bought a large outbuilding and paid ~$15K for it. The owner said we were wise to get it now because the materials cost is really going up -- the lumber (from Canada), the steel (also Canada), the vinyl siding, etc.

I thought Republikkkans were all about supporting and helping small businesses? They're actually fucking them over.
small businesses are given the opportunity to become big businesses under the protection of protectionism.

Buy american.

We should all be listening to your voice of experience.

My oldest son left his job as a nuclear plant engineer and now works on specs for installing robotics for Amazon at their various warehouses and facilities. Eventually everything from your order will be done with robotics rather than human warehouse workers. Rather than whining about how "unfair" global trade is and trying to destroy it with tariffs, we should be talking about what can we do to help these future displaced workers find decent employment.

I talk about the price of coffee going up and a lot of the MAGA on here joke about it, well the price has gone up just about 100% from a year ago and most of that increase came after trump hit Columbia and other coffee exporting countries with his tariffs.
In Jan it was $9.99 for a 42 oz can and is now $19.99 for the same can a price increase of 100%.
And that is just the start of things to happen.
Don't buy that brand If it's not on sale.... I gave you a link to coffee that was sixty four ounces for less than thirteen dollars... You should have stocked up...

globalism fucks over small businesses.

during covid all the small businesses got closed but walmart could stay open, concentrating traffic.

The Oligarchs have Newsom programed as the next President.....make no mistakes on this point.
Not a black woman? Really? A white, straight male? Why aren't they giving Kamala a second chance? Aren't Democrats all about second chances? ... especially now that Kamala has experience and momentum? Why not run Biden? They could just pull out the "he's as sharp as a tack" line again. What has Newsom done other than return California as the northernmost State of Mexico? Have the Democrat voters voted on this? Oh, wait, stupid question.

So, should we make predictions about a Vance-Newsom matchup?
