Progressivism's Fatal Flaw: Rejecting America

In fact, the right is not able to understand Trump is dismantling the American system and assuming powers no president has ever claimed. He is now daring to fire one of the Fed board members. He has decided he will decide tariffs when the Constitution gives that power to Congress. You children are conned into backing a felon who will do anything to break America.
You guys have no ability to analyze what atrocious Trump is committing. Nor the damage he is doing to the great American experiment.
no.

the constitution gives treaty power to the president.

Ariticle 2 section 2.

look it up ho.

One of the signs of a cult and its followers are that the masses are unable to distinguish fact from fiction. Truth from lies.

Fascism started with the slow but sure dismantling of certain institutions. That’s what we’re seeing today.
is trump a Russian spy?

Yes, I agree, the far left Democratic/Socialist/Communist Party is full of Fascists.

It did start with the slow but sure dismantling of many of our institutions…the FBI, the CIA, the DIA, the Justice Department, and the presidency, all under the Democrats. They were all weaponized to get President Trump, before and during his presidency.

Nice call.
WHOOSH!

Progressivism's Fatal Flaw: Rejecting America
By Joseph Ford Cotto

***Progressivism has been tried, tested, and repeatedly found wanting. No matter how many times left-leaning intellectuals or activists insist they can “get it right this time,” the ideology remains self-destructive because it rejects the very principles on which America was built. Progressivism is not only contrary to American heritage but fundamentally incompatible with the nation’s present and past.*** (Asterisks are mine)

The story begins with a simple truth: Americans are happiest, healthiest, and most stable when their lives are anchored in enduring values. In 2016, the Pew Research Center found conservatives—especially those in rural and suburban communities—reporting greater life satisfaction than liberals in urban areas, where costs are higher and cultural pressures more intense. The lesson is straightforward. Conservatism roots people in tradition, family, and community, while progressivism drives them into fragmented, unstable lifestyles concentrated in cities where alienation is rampant.

Economic data reinforce this divide. By 2018, metropolitan areas dominated by Democratic leadership were suffering from stark polarization. The Washington Post reported that middle-class families were increasingly priced out of blue strongholds, while red-state suburbs and rural towns attracted those seeking affordability and long-term stability. This was not just an economic story. It was a cultural one. People voted with their feet, moving toward communities aligned with conservative values.

By 2019, the trend accelerated. Millennials flocked to red-state metros in Texas and Georgia, escaping the crushing taxes and regulations of New York and California. The Atlantic noted that such migration reflected growing dissatisfaction with liberal policies. Families were leaving behind once-thriving blue cities not because they disliked urban living, but because progressive governance had made it unaffordable and unlivable.

The momentum continued into 2020. Brookings Institution data showed red states outperforming blue states in per capita income growth and job creation. Conservative-led regions were gaining traction precisely because they emphasized freedom, low taxes, and regulatory restraint, while progressive areas languished under bloated government interference. Progressivism was failing not in theory but in real-time practice.

This is not only a matter of economics but of culture. The Journal of Democracy reported in 2021 that progressives increasingly framed traditional American values as oppressive relics. Such rhetoric alienated ordinary people who took pride in their nation’s heritage. By vilifying the very cultural foundation that gave America cohesion, the left created a widening gulf between themselves and the majority who still believe in tradition, family, and country.

Migration patterns show the results of this cultural and economic decay. NPR reported in 2022 that cities like San Francisco were bleeding residents while red states such as Texas drew in newcomers seeking affordability and a cultural fit. A year later, Fox News highlighted how Texas and Florida led U.S. population growth, while California and New York shrank. The message is clear: Americans consistently reject progressive governance when given the option to choose another way of life.
LIBTARDS: Notice the difference when comparing the click-bait stories most of you use as your arguments and a real editorial?

This article makes the writer's argument using verifiable sources and sound reason to back up his claims. This is what editorials are supposed to look like. The left still has a few writers out there that take this approach, I think?

The majority of today's left-wing journalist, especially in the last 10 years, are nothing more than libtard dope dealers exploiting desperate addicts who crave a narrative that completely ignores reality in exchange for fantasies about the left winning and/or Trump's losing, in spite of losing millions in registered voters and currently sitting below herpes on the popularity scale, lol. It's quite the spectacle.

I never thought I'd see the complete destruction of the democrat party in my lifetime, then Trump said, 'Hold my diet coke.' lmao

The Lefties don't want solutions or happiness, they want pet problems, angst, violence and poverty.

If things are really bad, desperate people will agree to create the huge government programs to give them relief. But those program NEVER result in a solution, because then you wouldn't need them anymore. Just like the California High Speed Rail will never transport anyone. It was not supposed to actually solve a problem.

And here is the key, 80+% of the programs money, is spent on Administration Costs, which means, going into the pockets of the Lefties.

Yes, progressives hate America. Well reasoned.

Indeed…there are only two or three liberal posters on this forum who use sources, references and links appropriately when posting opinion pieces.

Creative writing is a lost art. It wasn’t when I was in college. The creative writing semester that I took taught me that I had some writing skills but not much creativity. I have worked on it but it is either there or it isn’t.

When people get desperate they often turn to a charismatic leader who targets the same things they want to blame for their problems. They yearn for those mythical “better days”. Enter fascism. Enter Donald Trump.

Hmm, amazing how he automatically equates political/social progressive ideology as NOT anchored in enduring values. Looking after the "welfare of the people" as outlined in our Constitution seems a pretty enduring value. Subsequently, he doesn't mention the economic/social/political problems and crime rates and general shit show that Texas and Georgia are currently going through?

Case in point: Red states have about 12% higher crime rate than Blue states, Red states have a general lower higher education funding and high school completion rate than Blue states.

There is some truth in what Cotto writes, but it is not the WHOLE truth. And half a truth is as good as a lie.

Free and fair and unfettered elections, to begin with. Why do you think Trump has been spending years claiming that our elections are all "fraudulent," even the ones he's won? Why is he now talking about banning mail-in voting and getting rid of voting machines? Why are Republikkkans in many states enacting laws to close polling places and to make voting more difficult, esp. in areas that tend to vote for (D) candidates? Why do you MAGATs support this?

Yep. Nearly all facets of American life.

Had my monthly eye injection last Wednesday. We (doc and I) got to talking about how the new regime is hobbling physicians and the practice of medicine... and affecting patient care. She said that the CDC maintained a section on their website for years with recommendations on vaccines to aid physicians with advising their patients, young and old. It's gone. Thankfully, she said, a private organization is now providing that information. But for how long?

And not all of his BBB take effect till AFTER the midterms because the Republicans do not want people to know just how much it is going to hurt a lot of people MAGAS included.
And when it does take effect and a lot of people get hurt by it it will be too late to go back.
DICTATORS got to do what DICTATORS do.

Too funny.

Just do what President Trump tells you to do, you will be fine.
