also, bp paid more for 'we are not so bad' advertisements than for claims for lost business due to the spill

also, why are there not more workers cleaning up the spill

bp claims oil clean up workers are sick from food poisoning notfumes fromthe oil and does not provide respirators for clean up workers

and last but not least, just how much oil has leaked

Has it been determined beyond any shadow of a doubt that this accident wasn't sabotage? I mean, are we 100% certain of that? Because, for the life of me, I can't EVER recall an oil rig exploding and then sinking. I know they have an occasional fire, but they are adequately equipped to deal with that, and often do without incident. This is the first time I can ever remember a rig exploding, then sinking to the bottom of the ocean... those things can withstand freaking hurricanes, it takes some kind of force to sink one.

The reason I ask this very pertinent question, it seems the left is being very quick and relentless in casting ALL BLAME on BP for this, and if it was some sort of sabotage, it's really not their fault and they shouldn't be taking all this heat. I also start thinking about how unethical and dishonest this administration is, and how they are so diligent in controlling 'the message' on everything... With 3 terror attacks already under their belt since Obama took office, could they politically afford another, one with this sort of catastrophic consequence? Wouldn't that pretty much sink the Good Ship Obama? So one has to wonder, what if this WAS an act of sabotage, and the Feds are keeping that to themselves? *cough* in the name of national security, of course... *cough*

Whelp, just when you think Dixie couldn't sink any lower. (an apt metaphor in this case)

I think we can make some valid assumptions here.....

1) these dividends are being paid out now because they are afraid there won't be any money left to pay a dividend out later.....
2) it isn't for the benefit of a guy who owns ten shares of BP stock that they decided to suck all the available cash out......who are the majority shareholders?
3) I'm sure those majority shareholders are well represented on the board of directors, who are likely the same folks who decided to cut corners on safety measures both before and after the incident....

Come to think of it, we haven't really ruled out the Joker, or the Penguin. For that matter, Darth Vader and Goldfinger are still suspects, as well.

1) no, this does not make any sense

2) Wrong again... paying a dividend does little other than create a potential income stream. It does not benefit a shareholder large or small for any other reason. The price of the stock will diminish by the amount of the dividend declared.

3) Yes, typically large shareholders are well represented on boards. But no, they are not likely the ones that made the decisions to cut corners. Most boards are not going to be involved in the decision making for a small piece of the company's business.

Joke all you like... while it is most likely that the drilling encountered a high pressure zone which caused the explosion, sabotage is certainly still a possibility... just not the most likely one by any stretch of the imagination.

are the claims given so far equal to the advertisement? i think the advertisement was stupid, maybe would have worked 50 years ago, but people are fairly savvy on advertisements now, my guess is that the guy who decided to green light this is old school and out of touch with modern society

let's hear the libtard bragade parot Obamatools nonsense.

Riddle me this, do the BP shareholders all of the sudden not own the company?
