The truth is that a president has immunity from prosecution while he stays in office. Trump cannot give up that power. He has 4 cases he cannot win waiting for him. He is also out on bail awaiting sentencing for one he was found guilty of.

The president has immunity for OFFICIAL acts. Obama is immune for the murder of an American child in Yemen, whom he maliciously murdered, because of who his father was and the strike was considered an official act. Even though Obama is out of office, he cannot be prosecuted for murdering Abdulrahman al-Awlaki.
