Today is relatively calm. There are no riots, no burning cars or buildings, no streets shut down.
But there ought to be. It's time for a come to Jesus meeting with judges and DA's.
Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who fled to the United States in 2022 to escape the war in Ukraine, was fatally stabbed on a Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Blue Line light rail train on August 22, 2025, around 9:45 p.m. The attack took place on a train en route to the East/West Boulevard Station in Charlotte’s South End. Zarutska was pronounced dead at the scene.
Decarlos Brown Jr., a 34-year-old homeless man with a history of mental health issues and prior arrests dating back to 2011, was charged with first-degree murder. Brown had a criminal record including convictions for robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny, and misuse of the 911 system. He was arrested immediately after the attack upon exiting the train and was treated for a non-life-threatening hand injury.
She did not die quickly or easily.
There were five other people around her. Not one of them came to her aid after the attack. She exsanguinated.
This happened on August 22. It has only come to light recently. The mayor of Charlotte did everything she could to
suppress the story.
She knelt for George Floyd but dismissed the death of Iryna Zarutksa. Why? One guess.
