The Charlie Kirk killing is back firing badly. People everywhere have had enuff.

As the former evangelical Christian turned Bible scholar and atheist, Bart Ehrman, puts it - there is no better way to create an atheist than to STUDY the Bible rather than merely READ it. When one actually studies it, the errors and contradictions become insurmountable for a rational mind.
I wish Bart and I could have a discussion. Bart may not be the scholar that you think he is. You are risking your salvation on the opinions of others.

Nope it is like speaking French to a person that can only speak English. There is no Solomon ground to work with. Get your Bible read Job then we can talk, Jethrine.

Ah, Job. The part where your god makes bets with Satan and fucks with an innocent man, just to test him. Kills his fucking kids, puts him through all sorts of tragedies just on a fucking wager.

You can have that kind of god, pal. But it proves nothing. It’s a fucking myth. A concoction. It explains nothing about innocent suffering and death in this world. Especially to those who have never seen or read your fucking holy book.

LOL

Salvation. Of course, you are referring to the bullshit initiated by Paul, not Jesus, to enter the kingdom.

Jesus, of course, said one need only to repent and ask forgiveness. Paul needs you to jump through theological hoops first. That’s not forgivesness. It’s atonement. Forgiveness has no strings attached

Which takes us back to why does God allow bad things to happen?

Ever read Job 1:6 ?
You’re trying to reference the spiteful, erratic, vengeful god of the Old Testament, pal. The one willing to slaughter entire cities - man, woman, child, animal. The one telling you, “Who are you to even question me?” The one willing to cause immeasurable suffering on a wager with Satan

Another failure.

Answer my question
Yes. I read Job. The spiteful, irrational, wagering god that creates unnecessary suffering as some sort of test to otherwise good people.

Is that the same god as the omnipotent, omnibenevolent, all loving god of the New Testament? The “Christian” god?

So far, it’s a no contest on your explanation of innocent suffering in this world. Is that really the best you have?

So what does Job 1:6 say and what is your exegesis of the verse.
