The right seems to not be aware of how Trump speaks. He has demonized so many, for so long, and on such a regular basis. It's a tactic for him, and is easily identified. He probably said something today. I'm sure he said something in the past 2 days. It's his m.o.
I keep saying it: no one has the high ground here. Particularly since Kirk's tragic killing. I have read countless posts not just demonizing the far left - which at least has some rationale - but demonizing all who vote Democrat, and even all who are not completely MAGA.

The other than the Left does have the high ground with the Kirk shooting. The Left is almost giddy with happiness that Kirk was shot and killed. You see that right here on this board too.

I can't even think about some of the celebratory stuff I've seen. It's so toxic, and devoid of basic humanity. It's caused an intense amount of introspection with me, and I will never be the same. That sounds dramatic, but this is a literal 'turning point' for me.
That said - Trump had choice in this aftermath. He could have been a transcendent leader, and sought to look for what unites MOST Americans. But he went his usual route. He is such a poor leader.
I'm in the political wilderness right now. I have no home. Conservatives could win people like me over. But I'll never understand the Trump phenomenon. His worldview is what controls the party now, and it's one I just don't share.

Trump is transitory. The problem is the Left isn't. I've seen the same rhetorical shit, political theater, and violence from them going back to the early 80's. Visit any major university on any given day and the radical Left will be out and in your face with some sort of political nonsense or another. It's all-pervasive and nonstop with them.
You don't even have to be on the Right to get their ire. All you have to do is disagree, in the slightest, with them. When you disagree with a Leftist expect them to, at a minimum ignore you, and at the worst end, try and get physical. They are insane. They don't want to hear what anyone who differs with them has to say. They are absolutely closed minded and rigidly dogmatic. In a word, they're religious nuts no different than Scientologists, Hari Krishna, or Jehovah's Witnesses.
This guy that shot Charlie Kirk got roped into that world and now he's fucked for life. Utah is very likely to slap a death penalty on him for his actions.
I've tried repeatedly over the years to discuss topics, and not just politics, with Leftists. You can't. They won't listen. They're totally closed minded. Most recently I've gone to several public invites to meet Democrat candidates at local get togethers. I'm polite to a fault at these. I listen to what they have to say. If I can ask questions or talk to them I do. That never--NEVER--goes well. I tend to specialize in topics like energy where I have expertise without having to rely on sources or looking things up. I can tell you I've been shouted down, to insulted, to given the heavy sigh and rolling eyes, but not once was one of these people willing or able to answer my questions. Not one time. I'd tell them I listened to everything they had to say and ask why they won't do me the same courtesy. That just gets insults or dismissal.
The Left cannot be dealt with.

lol so what ??? I've been listening to left wingers and black and brown racists spewing worse since the 1960's. They can't take what they dish out, so fuck them, they need to all be deported anyway. They are very easily replaced by real refugees who appreciate America, and aren't just greedy criminal wetbacks coming in for the money and freebies by the millions you Democrats let flood in.

He's actually a moderate with some conservative economic views as well as liberal ones. It's pretty simple; when the Democrats let the radicals take over their Party and mau maued the moderates out of office beginning in the 1960's and finally finishing them off with the wave of Watergate Babies and the invention of the 'super-delegate rule' to keep those uppity proles from having a voice in the PArty, they went to the GOP.
Not a good fit really with the GOP's establishment, and after being abused and taken for granted by the RNC's arrogant leadership, Trump was able to lead a revolt against both Parties and win big. If you don't understand that then you are part of the problem. Most people are fed up with both corporate rule and communist rule.
At the end of the day both the left wing and the super wealthy are all corporatists, distinctions without a difference. The U.S. is now heavily urbanized; there is no more balance between the small town and rural value systems and the urban moral rot and corruption that the country was founded on and made the Constitution work, i.e. a massive cultural shift for the worse. Most like me would have been happy if TRump just sat on his ass in the White House patio drinking scotch all day, we were voting against the Obamas, Hillaries, and Bidens and their racist organized criminal syndicates and keeping those scum out of office. To oiur surprise, Trump is actually working hard and getting stuff done that are worthwhile, and we see how that angers the criminals no end, so we enjoy it a lot. I don't know anybody who agrees with all his polices or likes his public persona, but he doesn't bother me a bit, since I know who he's keeping out of office and who hates him, mostly violent perverts and psycho commies and thier useful idiots. He's very entertaining.
Think of it as both the left and the rigt having created a lot of radical moderates sick of lunatic ideologues and their dumbass followers. Thomas Jefferson and the other Founders would have just deported the vermin long before it got to this point. Real libertarians would approve of disposing of the toxic waste.
