People always ask and seem to wonder why Trump can accept so many people in to his orbit, like JD Vance, who are on record saying the worst things about Trump, even worse than most on the far left say.

It is not a mystery and is the same reason he loves fascist leaders.

For Trump the only thing he does not understand and cannot work with is someone like Mike Pence. Someone Trump believes 'if he only does X, we win and then who cares if 'X' was correct to do or not'.

Trump has no desire to work with anyone who is morally rigid with certain lines they will not cross (religion, Constitution, etc).

So when Trump sees people like Vance who can go from hating him to bending the knee to him, Trump knows that is a person with zero principles guiding his actions and he will do anything if he sees a path to power. Similar for the fascist leaders.
