Hmmmm, didn't offend me. Why were they inappropriate? Didn't MAGA want to disavow any connection to the shooter? The Left sure did want to disavow it.
Either way didn't bother me one whit. I've heard plenty of comics make mildly technically incorrect comments (it was still very much in play at the time of his filming, so it can't be a 'lie', at worst it would be an error).
But even THEN why should I care that Jimmy commented on how the MAGA people reacted to a shooting? Wasn't an insult to Charlie (PBUH). So who cares?

You are correct they just decided his potential suit and loss of what few viewers they have they decided it would be cheap to let him finish his contract.
They way I see it his remarks were offensive but not a lot more offensive to other things he has said.

The issue was more likely the gaslighting. The leftists are desperate to cast the shooter as anyone other than themselves, he just did what leftists always do, accuse the right of what they are literally doing. If the left accuses the right of something, it is more often than not something they are doing.
