Nobody but you cares about this in this way or thinks it is the "fix all". All this does is limit their liability and give them "assurance". Each time somebody might sue they will now get, "go to the escrow"...

Hardly, Yurtsie. I read that, and they are refusing some, because of the Jones Act. But they are accepting others, which runs completely contradictory to the assertion of the OP. Which, if you read through the thread (know you have a hard time w/ that), is the whole point.
They're not putting out a blanket refusal of foreign assistance. The State Department has been coordinating assistance w/ other countries as needed (at least according to them & the Coast Guard). If you have information that is in opposition to this, I'm all ears.

Yurtsie, you need to read ID's OP, and the post I was responding to when I said "right-wing net."
Why doesn't it bother you that ID is clearly wrong with her assertion that it's all over the net that the admin has refused foreign assistance, both in her OP and in the post I was responding to?
I was wrong on aid actually being accepted for 15 countries; I had misread that. But clearly, it is being accepted from foreign countries, and if you do a quick perusal of the web, the State Dept. is working on getting as much aid as is needed from foreign countries, on a daily basis. The assertion that there is some sort of blanket refusal for foreign aid is nothing more than partisan BS (which is, I'm sure, why you're ignoring it, Yurtsie!)

Damo even chimed in that the unions were causing the admin to refuse "outside help," which is pretty unambiguous about whether "some" help is accepted, and ID seemed to agree with his post.
It's weird that you're trying to spin that; to me, they didn't seem to be making any bones about it.

I was honest - I was wrong about the # of countries. I was NOT wrong about the OP, ID's later response & Damo's response...all of which at the very least imply a blanket refusal. The OP itself states that "all" was refused.
Again, that's pretty unambiguous to me, Yurtsie. Maybe not to a complete hack, who doesn't seem to be bothered by the dishonesty of those claims.

And that somehow trumps the other statements I posted? How is it that I'm dishonest for correctly interpreting what she actually said, and you're Mr. Honesty for trying to squeeze a different meaning out of the other quote, which doesn't acknowledge at all that some foreign aid was accepted?
