It is also grown in Puerto Rico, a US territory.

As far as local prices go, suppliers want the highest price they can get. Buyers want the lowest price they can get. Somewhere in the middle is the agreed upon price. That's capitalism, folks. It's called price discovery and market forces.

NO ONE is forcing anyone to buy coffee. People buy it VOLUNTARILY at the agreed upon price.
