How did you get THAT out of what I said. He has mace. Use it. He can walk away and wait for backup. There are many options that he had available. Bottom line... he got in over his head, panicked and fucked up.

My sentiments exactly. This guy must be a rookie. A veteran cop wouldnt' have allowed a jay walking incident to escalate into this kind of situation. This dude needs to find another line of work. He's not cut out to be a cop.

I blame that on him too. I'd like to have seen a video of how he handled that. My guess is he came off like a storm trooper and thus the emotional response for the young lady. This has all the markings on an inexperienced rookie cop.

No doubt. I held a kid I caught stealing a bike for 15 minutes in a thumb lock while waiting for the cops with less problem then that cop had with this little woman.

I don't see a police brutality issue with the punch, she jumped on him while he was trying to cuff the other woman, and his reaction was defensive in nature, I can cut him some slack there, although it is exactly that kind of thing that can cause an out of control situation to turn tragic fast.

I agree Dixie. The first job of a peace officer is to control the situation, to maintain the peace and to prevent such situations from getting out of hand. This gay failed miserably. He created the situation, made it worse then handled it miserably. I wouldn't fire him, per se, so much for hitting the young lady but for incompetence.
