This shutdown is a tough one. The Trumpists can use it to fast forward their plans to shut down most of the government altogether. The Dems can use it as the only leverage they have given their weaker position. Both sides kind of need the shutdown to happen to either move their agenda forward or attempt to put a "traffic moderation device" (road bump) in the way of the agenda.

No side is incentivized to compromise.

It would take an army of lawyers the size of our total military to try and decipher what is in it.

When have low income people not struggled? Eligible people will Get benefits... And the system is going to change to make sure that happens.... Let's lift low income people up... and that's going to happen.... Unless Democrats keep fighting it...

What's wrong with requiring that people be eligible for the benefits that are provided? Especially when there are people who are eligible and are not Receiving benefits they deserve because Ineligible people are? That's why democrats will be responsible if there is a shutdown.... They refuse to open their eyes and see what's happening....
