King Charles Resigns Keir Starmer! tides of history turn holy heck

There is no constitution in the UK.

lol yes, there is, and they can call a constitutional convention any time, same as we can. They rely on traditions and several documents.

AI Overview

Should a codified UK constitution include reform or attempt ...
The UK's constitution is not found in a single written document but is a combination of written laws, like the Magna Carta, Bill of Rights, and the Human Rights Act, and unwritten constitutional conventions that have developed over centuries. This "unwritten" system has evolved organically, incorporating statutes, conventions, and landmark court decisions, and includes elements such as the powers of Parliament, the monarchy, and the judiciary, as well as established unwritten rules governing the relationship between these branches of government

of course,

Parliamentaryism is a thin veneer.

The Monarch can dissolve the parliament at his leisure.

The stupidity is ending.

Long live the king.
Not "at leisure"... The King could only dissolve parliament if the Prime Minister requested it. The King cannot exercise absolute power, and hasn't been able to for centuries. The monarch in the UK is largely a ceremonial role and usually due to uprisings after previous monarchs tried to act as if they were King...

that's wrong.

the king can dissolve the whole government.

The king cannot, and just saying things doesn't mean you know things, it just means you assume powers he doesn't have. The rise of the House of Commons and the Glorious Revolution along with the Bill of Rights passed in the 1600s changed a good grip of their power back then. By the time King George was getting his butt kicked by Americans they had lost much of their own executive authority and had to beg parliament for laws. While our Declaration was all about George and what "he has" done, it was already a bit inaccurate. Since then they've enacted many laws that limit that authority, including one in 2022 which enacted a law that stated exactly what I said.

The King cannot dissolve Parliament except in one specific ceremony and only at the request of the Prime Minister.

wrong.

The monarch's prerogative power to dissolve Parliament was revived by the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022, which also repealed the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011. By virtue of amendments made by the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act to Schedule 1 to the Representation of the People Act 1983, the dissolution of Parliament automatically triggers a general election.

Not the Constitution of the UK, Edwina. The UK has no constitution.

He can dissolve Parliament at his leisure.

The fake grittiness really says what a fake this is. They have black spots to make it look like it is non-digital developed film.

Anyway, none of what they claim is found anywhere else.

YES!

A royal Coups is in order.
If the banner went viral, and is world famous, why haven't they shown it? Why does it only exist in their stories about it?

Can King Charles dissolve Parliament?
Technically he can do whatever he wants. Britain does not have a written constitution, and the King has not agreed to a constitution.

That being said, tradition is that the King can only dissolve Parliament if ordered to by either the PM, or a no confidence vote. There would be hell to pay if King Charles dissolved Parliament.

I was asking if the new Parliament would want to change the immigration policy and the First Amendment policy?
The First Amendment to the US Constitution?

no crisis.

its their system.

everyone serves at the pleasure of the monarch.
That is what King Charles I thought, and he was executed for doing so. When King Charles III goes to Parliament, he is required to enter the building through only the Sovereign's Entrance, right next to a giant statue honoring the Cromwell who killed King Charles I.

If course it is; you're just a conspiracy nut, is all. They just amend theirs differently over time than we did.
