Always good to see and hear politically active people getting involved .. but with regards to Ron Paul .. he's a delusional pipedream and the one guy who is more dangerously insane and less of a human than George Bush.

No matter how fervently Paul supporters believe him to be the messiah, America is NEVER going to adapt his policies nor elect anyone as president who has the associations that he has.

Nor will America EVER adapt libertarian myopic-no-applicable-real-world beliefs.

Gotta disagree on that last line. Reagan is almost a mythological figure at this point in the GOP - like a founding father or something. Clinton was arguably the 1st real "rock star" Prez since Kennedy, and had similar #'s who were gaga over him.

For that matter, the most recent Bush was certainly treated as a rock star by the faithful; they abandoned him in droves after his re-election (though there are still pockets of real hero worship), but for awhile, the way people spoke about him made me think they must have been talking about someone else...

He does certainly have a fanatical fan base. I've never seen a "Clinton Autos" or a "Kennedy Gas" as business names. Obama, however, does have that distinction.

No. Though interestingly, it would be racist if the President were to be called some of the names applied to the last President.

And I am no defender of George W. Bush.

I also think Obama Hatred started out as a very small thing by some people who didn't have very good reasons and has just snowballed as he lost his good graces with the country and is now also championed by a lot of people who do have very good reasons.

And I think Obamamania is well on the way out too, as people realize the guy is pretty much like every President we've ever had. Which is not a bad thing. He deserves to be assessed objectively against other Presidents, in addition to the fact that he was a disappointment based on his promises.
