Bright Line Watch has been tracking 35 indicators of democracy since 2017. They poll Dems, Republicans, the general public and political scientists. The numbers reveal a dramatic drop in democratic indicators since 11/24.
Most notably: toleration of peaceful protest (free speech), not using government agencies to punish political opponents, and unbiased election district boundaries.
Other large changes since 11/24: No interference with press, Investigations not compromised, Government stats are not influenced, Legislature can limit executive.
Our rating (0-100) has declined from the high 60s since last October to about 55. We scored somewhere between Israel (49) and Mexico (60) and well below our nominal democratic peers of Great Britain (83) and Canada (88).
