And how would you determine she was unarmed?

Especially if she were like Babbitt breaking into the Capitol with hundreds of others causing damage and mayhem.

Would you wait to see if she gets a shot off first? Would you ask?

Or are you clairvoyant?

If any of these Babbit supporter, tough gun owners types had someone crawling through their window with a mob behind them, they would stand their ground and shoot the intruder and probably some of the mob with them.

They wouldn’t wait to find anything out. They’d shoot first, ask questions, later.

By the way...since you were kind enough to correct my grammar, allow me to do the same for you.

Your sentence, "If an unarmed woman was breaking into my house, I wouldn’t shoot her, I would call the police"...is written in the subjunctive mood. The "to be" verb should have been "were" not "was."

Misusing the subjunctive mood in informal discussion if done frequently, but when writing, you really should follow the grammatical rule.
