The real reason the leftists hate the idea of Trump building something that will be part of history for a long time to come is because they know that for decades and decades we'll be talking about the Trump Ballroom.

Trump steps over so many lines. That taints so much of what he does. He also lies all along the way. he is repulsive. Now The Grand Gold Trump Ballroom and Souvenir Shop is being built exactly how he decides.

It is an added-on OFFICE BUILDING, 60 YARTDS AWAY FROM THE ACTUAL WHITE HOUSE.

Oh, now you say White House residence. Don't be so obvious in your changing goal posts. The East Wing was part of the White House. It was a historical building that required the Planning Commission and historical preservation. Trump lied about that and went ahead. I cannot believe you are trying to say the East Wing of the WH was not part of the W.H. You Trumps are pathetic in your groveling. And so obvious in your willingness to lie to cover up Trump's dishonesty and buffoonery.

The White House complex includes the Executive Residence (main building with the State Rooms, living quarters, and historic core), the East Wing (formerly housing offices, the First Lady’s staff, a theater, and visitor entrance), the West Wing (containing the Oval Office, Cabinet Room, and senior staff offices), the East Colonnade (connecting the East Wing to the Residence), the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden (east side), the Rose Garden (west side), the North and South Lawns, and various support structures like the White House Visitor Center and underground facilities such as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center.

Nope. Trump doesn't need Congress' approval to renovate an Executive building if Congress isn't providing the funding. Since Congress' approval is not needed, Congress does not need the Planning Commission to give its approval.
