We establish STANDARDS and that is how our laws are based, it's not "discrimination against dirty old men!" It's not "denying rights" to anyone! He is right, currently there is nobody in power anywhere promoting the idea that we put forward. It is very likely that the government will issue licenses to gay people for "marriage" long before either you or I die, however even if they don't and all unions will be unions, there are churches that will marry gay people (who already do)...

It's time to look into reality's face. Either stop with the lame rhetoric and get your reps to start pressing your idea, or you'll be standing there in the future with people pulling up this thread and laughing.

No, I don't think it has a chance, I KNOW it has a chance. You just let the SCOTUS make Gay Marriage a reality, and you'll get to see how FAST it gets done. Mark my words, you have about 200-250 million church-going Americans who will break their necks to get to the polls to ratify such an amendment, should it be needed. And it won't matter what liberal judges have ruled or what idiot liberal legislators have passed against the will of their constituents, it will become part of our Constitution, and you will have to go suck an EGG!

Like I said, if and when the SCOTUS makes it "law of the land" for Gays to marry, you will see a Constitutional amendment, and it will pass with flying colors. You and the rest of these idiots grossly underestimate the number of people who OPPOSE Gay Marriage in America. When it is forced on them through the courts, they will rise up and be counted, and then it will be WAY too late to talk about Civil Unions or compromises, you'll have to live by what the Constitution says, and we'll just say, Tough SHIT, you should have accepted Civil Unions when you had the chance, GO FUCK YOURSELF!

More people are seeing that denying two consenting adults the ability to marry each other, is wrong and within just a few years, even the cro-magnon throughbacks like Dixie and PMP, will have to accept this; even though they don't agree with it.

Let me ask you this... How many people's minds have you changed here? How many people have you seen change their opinion on this board through the years? We've debated this about as much as any other subject, we have a robust representation of advocates for Gay Marriage, all the time posting threads and making their case, presenting the idea over and over again... How many have you swayed? 10%? 20%? 30% To be honest, I don't know of ANYONE who has changed his or her opinion on this... EVER!
