I think California is likely to over counter what Texas did, and Texas did what they did, because the Democrats were likely to get control, not that advantage they felt they needed, is gone.

Also other Democratic states will be doing it.

Redistricting is a war that Democrats are going to lose. You don't realize how few Democrat-controlled states can even do it (because they've ALREADY done it LONG before Texas ever did it). You also don't realize just how many Republicans are willing to sell political losses to the highest bidder. That's why Republican-controlled states have and will end up redistricting to a much lesser extent than they are actually capable of doing. For instance, Texas could've gotten another five seats if they really wanted to.
