It is worse than that.

The 2 charges they got indictments on are two versions of the same charge and on the two they did get only 14 of 23 jurors voted in favor of it. Just barely over 50%.

Understand that happened under a very biased presentation (as all GJ, Prosecutor presentations are) and yet it barely scrapped by to get a majority thinking there was enough there to go to court.

A jury in court now needs to find to a much higher standard of 100% unanimity and beyond any reasonable doubt. Way higher standard than the one the Grand Jury almost could not reach.

Trump often uses the term 'they come of central casting' for the people he likes or hires. He cares that they 'look good for TV' or look like a 'tv villain' far more than he cares about competence.

That is not hyperbole and is exactly his main criteria. He really does think (and he may not be wrong) that running gov't like a Reality TV show that keeps people engaged and viewership up is far more important than end results. He would tell you 'it is all about the ratings'.

I am not in agreement with people like Comey that the DOJ is a separate entity. I agree with the constitution that we have three separate but equal branches, not four. Congress is the separate branch that investigates executive branch wrongdoing.
