It has always baffled me why Republikkkans think that the wealthiest people on the planet deserve MORE money, but people who are low- or no-income deserve to go without health care, decent housing, decent food, decent education. It seems to me that if we provide these things eventually those people might be able to climb out of poverty and contribute to society.* What's that saying about a rising tide lifts all boats?

* With the exception of those who are disabled, elderly, unable to learn due to cognitive issues, etc.
