Why do you oppose making the Epstein files public?

As in our Walt? I don't know his background but understand he's better educated and experienced than most, if not all, of JPP's MAGAts.

That doesn't mean I agree with him all the time or even that he's right more than most intelligent, well-educated professionals. It's just that I recognize he is more rational than any two MAGAts put together. :)
Yes, I've called him that for the better part of a year. He's never been right. He's not even right as often as a broken clock. His predictions always fail, he never gets it right. Seriously, he's terrible at it.

Obviously you know him better than I. Are you claiming Walt can be used for the purpose of Strategic Inversion? For us card players, that can be seen as an advantage.

Since Walt is always wrong, what is the opposite of his beliefs? Which way do you think the winds will blow? Autocracy? Civil War? SSDD?

So you would choose Vance over Johnson!

Problem is Vance has this smeared all over him too

Most republicans don’t know much about Johnson

He’s

but that blow of shit spray very well may leave Johnson as the president if he plays the shit flow wisely
Oooh, I hadn't looked far enough head to see Johnson as POTUS. It's an interesting possibility. JD is as dirty as Trump...but doesn't have the SCOTUS protection. LOL

Nixon came close with Agnew then Ford then resigning himself. Weird!

Spiro Agnew (born November 9, 1918, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.—died September 17, 1996, Berlin, Maryland) was the 39th vice president of the United States (1969–73) in the Republican administration of President Richard M. Nixon. He was the second person to resign the nation’s second highest office (John C. Calhoun was the first in 1832) and the first to resign under duress....

...Agnew’s downfall began in the summer of 1973, when he was investigated in connection with accusations of extortion, bribery, and income-tax violations relating chiefly to his tenure as governor of Maryland. Faced with federal indictments, Agnew fought the charges, arguing that the allegations were false, that a sitting vice president could not be indicted, and that the only way he could be removed from office was by impeachment. After the solicitor general released a brief asserting that sitting vice presidents could be indicted, Agnew launched an attack on the administration and vowed not to resign. With Nixon in danger of impeachment for his role in the Watergate scandal, the administration sought to remove Agnew from the presidential line of succession, and secret plea bargaining took place between Agnew’s lawyers and a federal judge. Agnew resigned the vice presidency on October 10, 1973, and appeared in United States District Court in Baltimore on the same day to plead nolo contendere to a single federal count of failing to report on his income-tax return $29,500 in income that he had received in 1967, while governor of Maryland. Acknowledging that the plea amounted to a felony conviction, Agnew declared that he had resigned in the national interest. He was fined $10,000 and sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation.

Some information...

From our friends in AI. Feel free to prove them wrong:
If Vice President Vance were to assume the presidency due to the President's death, resignation, or removal:
  • If he takes over on or before January 20, 2027 (serving two years or less of the current term), he would be eligible to run for election to two full terms as president.
  • If he takes over after January 20, 2027 (serving more than two years of the current term), he would only be eligible to run for election to one full term as president.
ya not sure why i said it backwards as that is what i meant. Still two terms now and but after the mid way point only one.

She's a cutie!

What do we know about President Trump in the Epstein files?

"Direct answer: The Epstein files released in 2025 show that Donald Trump was mentioned multiple times in Jeffrey Epstein’s emails and correspondence, but there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Trump. The documents highlight Trump’s past social ties to Epstein, conflicting claims about what he “knew,” and his current political efforts to block or dismiss further releases.

📜 What the Files Reveal

  • Epstein’s emails referencing Trump:
    • In a 2017 email, Epstein allegedly called Trump “dangerous” and claimed he had “not one decent cell in his body”.
    • Other emails suggest Epstein believed Trump was aware of his conduct, though these are unverified allegations.
    • In one exchange, Epstein wrote that Trump asked Ghislaine Maxwell to “stop” certain activities, implying awareness but not participation.
  • Victim testimony:
    • High‑profile accuser Virginia Giuffre stated under oath and in her memoir that Trump “did nothing wrong” and that he was friendly when she met him at Mar‑a‑Lago.
    • Other victims have similarly said Trump was not involved in Epstein’s abuse.
  • Political fallout:
    • Trump has called the files a “hoax” and accused Democrats of using them as a distraction.
    • He has opposed congressional moves to force full release of the files, leading to clashes with allies like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
    • His administration’s DOJ, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, has resisted releasing all materials, saying no “client list” exists.

⚖️ Key Context

  • Trump and Epstein were socially connected in the 1990s and early 2000s, appearing together at Mar‑a‑Lago events.
  • Trump later distanced himself, saying he was “not a fan” of Epstein after learning of his behavior.
  • The files mainly consist of emails, estate records, and law enforcement interviews, which include Trump’s name but do not establish criminal involvement.

✅ Takeaway

The Epstein files show mentions of Trump in Epstein’s communications and highlight their past social ties, but victim testimony and official investigations have not accused Trump of direct wrongdoing. The controversy now centers more on Trump’s political handling of the files—his opposition to their release—than on new evidence of misconduct."

Just release the files.

I can see Epstein emailing folks and talking negatively about Trump after Trump kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. A bit of angry leftover from the ending of what he thought was a friendship. It appears as if there are paths Trump will not walk along and actions that he didn't ignore.

However, the amount of political capital he has spent here tells me there is someone he is protecting.
