A 45-year-old Riverside County man, who reportedly works as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, is accused of illegally detaining a minor at gunpoint while off duty last week.
The Nov. 10 incident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, played out at around 10:30 pm outside a home in the 32000 block of Daybrook Terrance in Temecula.
Lawyer Greg Kirakosian, who represents the boy and his family, told KTLA that the 17-year-old was driving home after dropping a friend off down the street when he saw the suspect, identified by investigators as Gerardo Rodriguez, pointing a gun at his vehicle, demanding he pull over.
Rodriguez was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment and assault by a public officer. Jail records show he posted bond and was released the same night. Neither the juvenile nor his parents have been publicly identified by authorities.

According to the newspaper, Isaiah Hodgson's attorney told a Long Beach Superior Court judge that Hodgson died in August.
The body of Hodgson, 29, was found around 12:45 p.m. Aug. 22 when deputies responded to a home in the 25000 block of Avocet Circle in an unincorporated area near Hemet, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Hodgson was reportedly one of the agents involved in an immigration raid in June in Pico Rivera in which Adrian Martinez -- a 20-year-old U.S. citizen - was detained, according to Martinez's lawyer.
Hodgson was also charged with assaulting a Long Beach police officer and resisting arrest for a July 7 incident at the Shoreline Village parking lot.
The Los Angeles County district attorney's office claimed Hodgson was "off-duty, intoxicated, and armed with a handgun" while at a restaurant. He allegedly entered the women's restroom and approached a woman who saw his handgun, according to a statement from the DA's office.
It looks like women are more likely to be attacked in a bathroom by US Border Patrol agents than they are to be attacked by a trans person.

The events of October 4 also helped establish a pattern of force by federal agents. Our investigation found that federal agents used chemical weapons on protesters at least 49 times across 18 incidents across Chicago and the suburbs since October 1. Federal agents have used chemical irritants at least thirty times since a judge placed restrictions on their use of tear gas and pepper spray. Contrary to federal claims about attacks on agents, most of these incidents appear to involve nonviolent protesters or bystanders.
The findings are based on videos and photos posted online or sent to a tip line organized by a group of nine local newsrooms and independent journalists. The review does not include chemical weapon uses from outside the federal ICE facility in Broadview, a western suburb, where agents have also repeatedly deployed tear gas and pepper balls.
On November 6, U.S. District Court Judge Sara L. Ellis issued an order forbidding federal agents from using riot control weapons, including tear gas, unless it’s necessary to stop someone from physically harming another person. The order is part of a lawsuit filed on behalf of Block Club Chicago and other media organizations, seeking to protect the First Amendment rights of journalists and peaceful protesters.
Since then, federal agents have used chemical weapons at least four times, including two cases where agents appeared to fire pepper spray out of a moving vehicle directly into another moving car, possibly violating both the injunction and Border Patrol rules restricting chemical weapon uses on motorists.
