BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — A man who had an outstanding federal warrant involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was arrested in connection with a crash that killed an 8-year-old girl in Idaho, according to officials.

The City of Boise identified the driver as Elvin Ramos-Caballero.

He obeyed all traffic laws and was not cited for any driving offense. His visa had simply expired.

The girl was at a busy intersection, unsupervised, at rush hour traffic. She was struck by his rear tires when she bolted across the street. He never saw her.

Always a half truth, at best.

Yep, here since before that and not a single criminal incident. Living and working peacefully.

He should not have been in the US. So he wasn't legally driving in the US.

WASHINGTON — On November 11, 2025, Elvin Elgardo Ramos-Caballero, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras, was charged with hit and run in a tragedy that killed 8-year-old Mora Gerety in Boise, Idaho.

Ramos-Caballero illegally entered the U.S. in September 2015 and was released into the country by the Obama administration. He never showed up for his immigration hearing and was ordered removed in absentia on May 9, 2016.

I don’t give a fuck what that says. The accident occurred 2-3 blocks from where I work. He didn’t leave the scene. He stopped and cooperated with the police.

His warrant was because he missed a court hearing.

His warrant was because he was avoiding deportation. It was for arrest and deportation.
