When I was part of the working middle class, Thanksgiving was the best holiday to fly home to the Midwest and be with family. I was always greeted as a god when exiting the plane to the point it was embarrassing to look at my new friends I made on the long flight.
The first stop was always a microbrewery to prepare me for toddlers climbing on me. They were told to say hello to a stranger they didn't know but quickly learned the smell of beer, whiskey and weed. Something my family pretends doesn't exist.
