The United States left approximately
$7 billion worth of U.S.-funded military equipment and weapons in Afghanistan following the 2021 withdrawal and the collapse of the Western-backed Afghan government. This materiel was primarily seized by the Taliban.

Equipment Left Behind
A March 2022 Pentagon report to Congress itemized the equipment that remained in Afghanistan, which had been transferred to the Afghan security forces over two decades:
  • Weapons: More than 316,000 weapons worth almost $512 million, out of a total of over 427,300 provided. This included American-made firearms such as M4 and M16 rifles, as well as machine guns and grenade launchers.
  • Vehicles: Over 46,000 military vehicles, including Humvees and mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles.
  • Aircraft: 73 aircraft were left behind (though many were reportedly disabled). Other aircraft were flown by fleeing Afghan troops to neighboring countries like Uzbekistan.
  • Other Gear: Nearly all communications equipment (radios, transmitters), specialized night-vision, surveillance, and biometric devices remained in the country, totaling nearly 42,000 pieces of equipment.

It was a stupid decision to us the Kabul airport. They should have used an airport like Bagram that could be easily defended and the withdrawal wouldn't be chaotic.

Mostly useless to the Taliban. They can’t use them or repair them.

You have not understood it. Trump sending the military to cities is making them targets for crazy people. The Afghanis have been vetted by Biden and Trump. There was one who went nuts. It can happen. However, Trump putting them in harms way to show his right-wing aggressive bona fides resulted in 2 getting shot. You have no idea what the shooters politics are.

Well I wish Trump wasn't so bombastic but I'll take that for policy that I like. Like a sealed border and standing up to China and addressing our country losing manufacturing and standing against men in women's sports etc.

blah blah blah. the leftists made zero distinction about politics or geo location when it comes to the might of the US military to defeat rebel americans. Nearly all of them believe that cops and the military are so highly trained that there could be no effective resistance..........this episode shows that not to be true.

And why the hell was he negotiating with an entity if we didn't recognize it as even being an entity?
And on top of that gave them everything they were fighting for for 20 years.
A lot of our military personal died for nothing thanks to him.
