I have a good buddy who grew up in Gig Harbor. He ended up going to UW, so of course he hates Wazzu. But he really hates Spokane and Gonzaga as well. Any idea if that's just a personal thing? Or do people in the orbit of Seattle just not like that eastern part of the state?
I was just in Gig Harbo 2 weeks ago. Took the long way around to get to the Olympic peninsula instead of just taking the ferry across in Seattle.

My buddy was the starting point guard I believe on the Gig Harbor basketball team that won the state title in 1996. I remember him saying they beat Jason Terry’s team and I believe Michael Dickerson’s well.

So how about them Badgers??? I had them written off as an extremely embarrassing "2 win season", only being able to beat mid-majors, but they've surprised me down the stretch... two wins at home against two ranked opponents (Washington and Illinois). They even stuck with Indiana for a half (before falling apart in the second half).

If they have another good-enough game left in them, they might be able to snatch the axe back from Minnesota. That would make for some good momentum going into next season. It was looking pretty darn dreary for a while there.

With a win in the Iron Bowl, the Crimson Tide will make the playoffs. Just gotta win out!!
I'm rooting for anyone other than Ohio State or Alabama. They both can just 'go away' already. Notre Dame is right up there too because they are always overrated.

Not feeling good about Friday's game. It's hard to beat a good team twice in a year. The record of rematches since WWII bear that out. Teams who win the first game, win the second game at about 50% rate. Alabama hasn't lost 3 games in a row to one team since the 1930's. I said before the final pairings that I would rather playe Notre Dame than Alabama. But it is what it is. Our school Christmas party is Friday night so I'll miss the game anyway. However it goes ... BOOMER SOONER!!

Alabama shouldn't even be in the playoff. I'll be happy to see them lose right away. I'd like to see Ohio State lose too.

My New England Patriots are not in the playoffs. Woops, they're an NFL team, so
I have to go with my former college favorite when I lived in Ohio as favoring the
Ohio State Buckeyes as being the Champions.

College football in the New England area is not even on the radar as having a legitimate
football team to compete for the National title.

Indiana’s for real. It should be a good game. Indiana is going to have to come up with some serious cash to keep their coach. Isn’t it bizarre for Indiana to be ranked higher than Alabama.

You have to admit Indiana is the sentimental favorite. It will be Alabama against the world. Roll Tide.

When I was a youngster, Alabama's drinking age was 19. The 4 surrounding states all had drinking age of 18. From Tuscaloosa to the state line is about 45 or 50 miles. Made that run so many times.
We were a 3.2 State in Ohio when I was 19. 18 for 3.2 Beers and 21 for anything harder.

Our thing was doing beer runs to neighboring States for beers we couldn’t get in Ohio like Yuengling, Rolling Rock, Coor’s, etc,.

When I was In school in Iowa on trips to Ohio and back to visit friends and family I would pick a case of Coors and bring back a couple of cases of Little Kings because Iowa was a 3.2 State then and Little Kings had 6% abv.
