I've lived in New Orleans, San Francisco, Houston, and visited friends and family hundreds of times in Baltimore and Los Angeles. I've also driven the back roads of Appalachia and the deep South.

Almost anyone who is an educated white collar professional would choose those metropolitan areas over Appalachian poverty and backwardness.
