The Starr/Clinton impeachment was a sham, too. Tbh, all the most recent impeachments have been total garbage and a huge waste of taxpayer money for nothing. If one thinks about it: That's not representing your constituents, that's playing corrupt political games and partying on their money.

That's not the problem. Impeachment is for obvious cases like criminal conviction--and no, that joke of a case Bragg brought isn't an example of this--malfeasance in office, or gross incompetence, are reasons to bring an impeachment. Normally, both parties agree that impeachment is necessary as this is usually required to get a conviction. If only one party, or a few extreme members of the body that can impeach are the ones involved, impeachment is NOT proceeded with because it will fail in its purpose.

The Democrats, of late, however have taken to using this serious political tool for what amounts to ineffective but highly visible political theater. It might play well to their base on the Left, but for most people it's getting old and tired and only making them dismiss the Democrats as unserious and hateful. That doesn't play well come election time.

Yeah. This is just your usual gaslighting, and minimizing of trump's evil. He tried to overturn a free and fair election and when that didn't work he attacked his own country. He attacked and doxxed election workers IN YOUR STATE because they wouldn't go along with the big lie.

trump then stole documents and conspired to hide them from the FBI.

trump also tried to blackmail Ukraine to claim there was dirt on Biden.

You want to dismiss trump's evil deeds, but I'm not going to let that happen. Had it not been for other spineless and evil Republicans covering for trump, he'd probably be in jail right now. He'd surely not be president.

Impeachment is for "high crimes and misdemeanors", and those are defined by the House. Trump could be impeached for not releasing his medical records, as banal as that is.

But more likely bribery, abuse of power, violating the law (e.g. Epstein Files), unlawful detainment of American citizens, etc.
